Journey Tribute Band

Is anyone familiar with it? I’m asked to go to the concert. I have no idea what to expect.

There’s more than one. By us, Resurrection is popular. They tend to play only hits vs album tracks like the real band. It’s a good time.

We have one called THe Great Escape near us. I’m not a Journey fan, so I can’t give a personal opinion, but a lot of people say they are fantastic.

So when does a band become a tribute band of itself? How many original members from their heyday have to still be active?

I may be wrong, but I thought tribute bands typically don’t have members of the original band.

Resurrection has (or had) the former drum tech, who sat in on a show when Deen Castronovo was sick. Of course, he himself is not the original drummer - like most bands, a lot of the personnel is not original.

Is there another Steve Perry out there somewhere?

You have to admit that the current guy sounds just like him. But in that sense, he’s a tribute singer - although they have a few originals.
