did anyone get a waitlist letter saying they were in for 2012 class but not 2011 because its full>?

That does happen occasionally, sometimes they offer up Spring semester admission as well.

So what are you thinking about doing?

im not going to do it beacuse i will have nothign to do next year

There are a ton of interesting opportunities for students on gap years. I wouldn’t write it off just because you haven’t yet envisioned what can be done other tahn school. Gap years are often very valuable experiences and I wonder whether I would have been better off with one occasionally.

I’d contact Brown if this is where you really want to be. If you don’t care about it that much, that’s fine, but if this is truly where your heart is, I’d talk to them about options for internships, job opportunities, or volunteering in an area that would appeal to you because they can hook you up with some really interesting chances you wouldn’t otherwise have.

If you really want to go to Brown it’s worth it!! There’s a lot you can do with a gap year. I’m sure you can find something. I took one, it was great.
