Well you get A=P(1+rt), then you get P=A/(1+rt).

I cant believe i didnt think to factor…
I should have been able to get that. Hopefully, I did well on the rest of the math section, and i think i did.

Since the ACT is supposed to predict how well you’re prepared for the college curriculum or whatever…

When in college are we going to have to read 6-7 scientific passages, answer 40 graph analyzing questions, all under the time restraint of 35 minutes and expected to miss less than 2 questions?

I’m serious. Are science classes in college really that hard O.o

^ Hence why the ACT is a poor predictor of college grades. The best predictor of your grades is your high school GPA, so no. Don’t sweat it.

the science is there to test your reasoning and interpretation skills… this science wasn’t as good as other ones because it failed to explain a couple of things that most people won’t know… some know these things (viscosity and mitosis stuff for example), but many don’t… so a lot of people are pretty mad about the science… i was able to get those two subjects right, but because I had to think about the mitosis one for an extra minute or two, I was really rushed on the last passage and missed 1 or 2 on that one alone (probably -3 or -4 overall… but still… the curve needs to be a little more generous because of those two subject matters and the fact that not everything we needed was somewhere on the page, either directly or indirectly)

exactly.
We have a right to be irritated.

would anyone happen to remember what answers they put on the last science section passage? (the starch I2 dialysis bag one)

I put that when the sugar was being used, both sides of the balloon would be white and the alloon would - deflate?

There is no way anyone can remember the specific question.

starch wouldn’t be able to pass through the bags was one question =]!

yeah… i was so pressed for time at the end because i took too much time on the first one to figure out the pictures for the mitosis phases… i caught up to time near the middle and even got ahead but then fell about 30 secs to a minute behind again… so if there had been just one more sentence just briefly brushing over one basic thing about one or two of the phases, i may have had 30 more secs to spend on the last section and possible getting 1 more right in the end (which on science, one more right can be the difference bet/n a 31 and a 33 in most cases on that section… the 2 scores i always fluctuate between)

“I put that when the sugar was being used, both sides of the balloon would be white and the alloon would - deflate?”

The answer to that one was the balloon would swell, and it’d be colorless on the inside/outside.

YES!!! i totally guessed on that one… i had no idea what the crap i was doing… whew, well at least i got that one right (that was the last one, right?)

yeah it was 40

i know there’s one in there that i think i missed (on the last science passage)

and then there’s one in the middle, the one about kinetic energy… i said to myself the order was S,U,T for increasing speed… but i think i accidentally put U,S,T without realizing it… and that answer is wrong… i took ap physics b last year, so i know what all that crap is… i [think] i just made a dumb mistake there… i hope i didn’t, but i think i did

well, there is no way we can remember exactly what the questions asked or exactly what our answers were.

A bunch of questions sounded similar.

We might as well relax…

oh yeah… what’s the deal with the co-authored vs. first book she wrote answers on the harriet tubman passage in reading? i don’t remember seeing co-authored (i must have glazed over it) and put the first book she wrote option for my answer… which one of those is right? i’ve looked through here and i’ve seen a people go back and forth between those two answers

what were the last 5 correct answer letters for the science section (35-40)?

lol for this section I ditched my skim the passage first strategy and went straight to the questions.

It was DEFINETELY first book. It ssaid so specifically in the passage

i remember the beaker question… i know i got it right but i can’t remember which soln was in which beaker

It’s her first book.

It’s on Amazon, and I thought it was clear that it was Larson’s first book.
