the answer to that question is
**leaves no room to read books deemed not worthy by critics **
something like that…

i think choice one is correct. The answer did not have “all” Plus it aws the only one that made total sense in the context of the passage

yup 3 had to be right…hmmmm well any other hard test questions anyone wants to go over

@rlaghduck
I agree :)

yeah rlaghdcks thats what i meant…can’t really phrase it right

what is the one that smarts put on the list

“alistair-greatly impacted by experiences”

What was that?

i think he is refering to the question about
“if I didn’t marry Alistair, I doubt I would’ve told the story differently”
and the answer is Awareness that Alistair had shaped her life
I think?

i put domineering for the rocket as well…

was the suburban/city woman passage experimental?

what were some SCs for that section cause I got some wrong but hoping some are from the experimental section

wasn’t that the question with the answer choice “biased”

guys, if the answer really is “leaves no room to read books deemed not worthy by critics”
then how can the author himself be reading the trashy novels?

Nowhere in the passage did the author mention that the list was stopping the author from reading what he wanted.

exactly, that was the point. He was saying, the critics wouldn’t like these books, but I’m going to read them anyway because I want to. Remember he said he didn’t care if they were “trashy”?

the question referred to the “literary status”, not what the author read.
and the literary status leaves no room to read books deemed not worthy by critics.
but the author still read the trashy novels.

rlag- agreed

Okay, the original question asked about the literary standards. The standards would have people reading the generally accepted books and not the “trashy” ones.

Also, to those people arguing about the newspaper question. The question stated how the author from passage 1 would respond to specfic lines in the second passage (I do not remember) and not the entire passage, meaning the answer is the one with overstating. Those few lines talked about solely about the newspaper being similar to blogs.

na im pritty sure it was overstating because the author of passage one noted that there were similaries between newspapers and blogs but author two goes to far in his comparisons.

So there still doesnt seem to be any type of consensus on the scientific cs. philosophical question?

And for the one about capital letters, most ppl seem to think poke fun was the answer

I put like “sarcastically…”

Does anyone remember the rest of that answer choice and y that was wrong

Sarcasm deals with tone. She just wrote it in a funny way.

Also, the answer is scientific because the passage did not distinguish between how philosophical the author was and how philosophical her husband was. On the other hand, the passage did show how her husband knew more about science than she did because she did not even know what to do with the gene map.

Furthermore, the question asked about her husband and not the author. There was no mention that her husband acknowledge genes as fate; all that the reader knows is that she acknowledges genes as fate.

Empathy???
negligent, essential???
summation/complement???

what were the questions to these answers?

what were the other choices to why the author referenced books of high “literary status” ??

becuase i’m not sure if i put experts have narrow limits or not.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TRY TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!?!?! PLEASE!

For the one about it either being extinct volcano or tropical ocean: it is definitely tropical ocean.

The question asked you to look at two specific paragraphs, the first paragraph talking primarily about heat [narrows it down to volcano vs. tropical ocean] but the second paragraph talked entirely about salt, and how warm salt could speed up the process of erosion.

So: Salt + Warmth = Tropical Ocean.

If the question did not include the section about salt then yes, it would probably be volcano. But it included both paragraphs, so it is tropical ocean.

Lol ya I am pritty sure there is a consensus that scientifically inclined is right. However, it is not a unanimous consensus by any means. Regardless, the BEST answer was that he was more scientifically inclined…period.
