June 2010: Math II

might have been .27 it works on the calculator tho haha no need to question it

Oh, for the judges problem, I said that there were 5 judges. You had to multiply 5.4 by n. 3 gave you a decimal, and you can’t have integers add to a decimal. 5 gave you an integer for both the 5.4 and 6.0 scorer.

Was the “less than 50 average speed” choice E? I remember something there saying average 50, but not the “less than” part.

And was there some prime number question with answer “10”? :P

why is the g(x) one 3?
…isn’t it 2?

i agree i got 2 as well

can u explain the reasoning for how you got 2??

The asymptote was definitely at 3…

Malfunction: I got 10

Wait, wasn’t the abs problem -b?

Oh and the period curve question. It was sin(2x), right?

At the end of the test, I realized that I had filled in the wrong answer sheet (the third one on the back cover) and then transferred the answers to the first document; however, I didn’t have time to erase my previous answers. Anyone know if this will affect my score?

g(x) was 2 because the original graph had the point (0,2) and so the inverse of that would be (2,0).

so what’s the answer to that g(x) problem?

Yes, the period curve question was sin(2x).

Here’s one that my friend and I disputed.

sin(t) = x^2. sin(2t) = ?

I got 2x^2*sqrt(1 - x^4). Can anyone confirm?

superexcited: exactly

ya i got sin(2x) and then for the abs. value problem, if you plug in numbers your result is a negative number but then you have to remember that the b value was already less than zero so it would just be b, which is a negative number

I don’t think so. b was a negative number and the answer was always negative.

keasbey: i either put that or the same answer without the 2 in front, i dont remember but it worked on the calculator

Yeah Keasbey Nights I think that’s what I got with plugging numbers.

ugh i thought i totally had that a & b one. cant remember what i put as my answer exactly.

when do we get our scores btw?

keasbey- i got the same thing as you
