As the test is coming up soon, I thought I’d make a thread for discussion. How are you all preparing? I’m using Barron’s SAT II and Cliff’s Notes, which I hope will be enough for a 780+.

I’m using Barron’s and will probably go to the library/book store and do the PR practice tests

Hey guys, bump for the night before the test. I finished both Barron’s practice tests and both Cliff’s practice tests. I’m taking the official CB test tonight to gauge where I am. How’s everyone else doing?

I took the barron’s first test last week and got a 630 haha. Then I took CB the same day and got 740. Today I took barron’s and got a 740 again. Considering Barron’s is usually harder, I think I should be fine.

^ Yeah, sounds like you’re doing well. I need to review human physiology a bit more. It’s the longest section in Barron’s.

Can the official CB test be found online? If not, I’ll just look over the AP questions I’ve done… using Cliffnotes and PR (not sure how useful it is).

Also, Studious, you mentioned that we could switch between E/M (browse them and then see which ones are easier). Are the E/M questions scrambled into the test or are they a section all on their own, where you can just bubble the one you want to take? Confused about the test formatting basically.

^ The E and M portions are clearly defined. The first 60 questions of every test is the same. After that, students taking E answer questions 61-80, and students taking M answer questions 81-100. The format makes it very easy to switch between tests.

I got 770 and 750 in Barron’s today~ So happy. I hope I can get a high 700s, or even, 800 on this test tommorrow.

I just got an 800 on the official CB test! I only missed one, and it was because I misread “pituitary” as “pancreas” (I must have been moving too quickly). 800s in Barron’s as well. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow.

Can you post some of the official CB questions? I don’t have the test. Just the question would be a great help - I’m really scared right now.

They’re very similar to the Barron’s questions, so don’t worry. Here’s one question:

Behavior that remains unaffected by environmental changes is most likely

(A) territorial
(B) learned
(C) innate
(D) stereotyped
(E) conditioned

^is the answer C?

anybody know how much of plants is gonna be on the test because I can’t remember anything from it lol

Good luck everyone! I got 640/740 on the two barrons’ tests, but I didn’t study too much Human Phys @_@ or Ecology. Probably going molecular, regardless of the lower curve.

Yeah, it’s C.

Here’s an easy question I got wrong:

All of the following are metabolic wastes EXCEPT

(A) water
(B) CO2
(C) uric acid
(D) urea
(E) O2

^ E.

Yes, it’s C.

So I was able to get a 710 and then a 740 in Barrons, where do you think that puts me for the test tomorrow?

I got a 740 on the second barron’s test as well. The official tests seems easier than barron’s

I really don’t like plants or ecology.

The official test is easier from what I’ve seen. Boost your Barron’s score by 30 points or so to see roughly your real score.

@Studious, do you have a tip for the lab sections? I almost never miss anything on the regular multiple choice, but I sometimes miss some on the lab questions…

Can someone explain how oxygen isn’t a metabolic waste? Plants give off oxygen during photosynthesis.
