June 2012 SAT II Biology

Piano yes, it’s for vine. Yes that’s what I put, but I don’t remember if that option was C. Was the slightly steeper graph (at the end) option D?

Ok, thank you!

I’m not sure, actually. I know I put C. Hopefully more people can confirm that.

What do you think your score is by the way? It looks like you did REALLY well.

Txqueso, where’d you get that?

Piano68, I believe that was C. I picked the same graph.

Crossing my fingers for an 800. That would be awesome. If the answer for the vine one was indeed the steeper one, then I would’ve only gotten 2 wrong (the insect/decomp one and the ribosome one), which would be an 800 :] hope I don’t find out that I’ve gotten anymore wrong.

Txquesco thanks, that confirms that if I get one more wrong, I won’t have an 800 anymore ><;

Wait, which ribosome one? If you got it wrong, then I probably did too…

No, I probably just derped really badly :confused: it asked what had both proteins and RNA, and I put tRNA when it should’ve been ribosomes.

It was the one w/ the pics of both transcription and translation near the beginning.

Ah, ok. Don’t worry. Lol I made stupid mistakes too. Really doubt I’ll get 800, but I might be close (780 or 790). I think I might retake it later, though.

o_O; Retake a 780/790? I think that would end up hurting you rather than helping since colleges would think you were too obsessed w/ scores.

Doesn’t the curve change every year though? lol

But don’t you choose which score to send them? As in, if you take it twice, can’t you send them which score is better.
I really have no idea lol.

It depends on which college accepts score choice I guess… I dunno, it’s up to you, but I would rather just spend my time improving my college app instead of retaking xD

Hmm I’m not sure then. I think I’m taking Bio AP junior year. Once I take Bio AP, I’ll have a better chance at getting an 800.

Have we reached a consensus about the graph of the bacteria one (where it asked you to figure out what the population would be if it continued to grow at the rate it did from 0-24 hours) or the one about clumped distributions?

Clumped distributions, I picked the one that said it was so they could find a mate (imo, only one that made sense which is why I picked it).

And, people were arguing about that bacteria one yesterday (either 96,000 or 50,000), but I did M so I’m not sure.

The bacteria must be in the E section, because I don’t remember reading about it.

The one about clumped distributions…I put it would increase reproduction between members of the population.

You haven’t taken AP Bio and you still got a near-perfect for the SAT II? Dang o__o;

I put mating for clumped too.

Most people said it was 50,000 for bacteria b/c it showed linear growth from 0-24 hrs, and if you continued that for 24-48 hrs, it would go to 45,000, which is close to 50,000.

I’m probably gonna take AP Bio junior year too Piano, but as long as I get over 700, I’m definitely not retaking it.

If I get a 750, I’ll never even think about the Bio SAT II again. xD

ouch just found out I made a mistake…I know i’m going to be bordering mid 7s but ahhhh I hope I did well…
