June 2012 SAT Subject Tests Results and Discussion

Bio E: 800! ASDKASDKLA YES!

Now to prepare for chemistry and math II so that I can apply to MIT. Muahahaha.

680 for U.S. History…
That pretty sucks, doesn’t it? I want to go to USC, Berklee, and Chapman (more for film and music than academics, but still).

should i retake physics if i got 690?

690 math II… Crap.
740 Spanish. I thought I did better… Oh well.
750 physics. Eh? Fine with me.

I’d say pretty good for not prepping at all? Haha.

Can I send these in to schools like Notre Dame? Duke maybe? At least not math right? I don’t know if I’ll retake… I might prep this summer and take SAT I, but I’m not sure. (I got a 33 on my ACT)

lol wow
math II 800, Physics 800, USH 800!!!
good thing collegeboard servers finally are back up :D

Yea but I’m sure some people are accepted to MIT with a 690 science. I didn’t think I was going to get higher then a 600 in either of mine, so I’m ecstatic with a 690 in one of them. Besides, they look at you as a whole, and my ACT science is pretty good at 33, and I just retook that to get my reading higher(29) so my science may have gone up as well. Plus with the 800 Math II, even with a below average science for MIT I think I stand a chance :)

USH - 730
Math 2 - 710
Lit - 610 (figured id take a 3rd since i was there)

Cya Wharton :(

Bio E: 800
German: 800

I was shocked about German, I wasn’t so confident about it, and I’m glad that my Bio score jumped up from a 760 in the May test. So, as Michael Jackson would say…HEE HEE!

Hi,

D got 720 on Math II at the June test, 1st time taken. She was scoring 750+ in the Princeton Review and College Board practice tests and got an A- in her pre-calculus class this year. She didn’t use Barrons at all, could the students who got the 750+ on the June test suggest a study plan to improve her score this September? She said on the June test she probably omitted around 7 questions.

Thanks for your help, and congratulations to all who achieved the scores they worked so hard for!

Grateful Mom

do colleges look at the grade you take the subject tests?

I took all of the subjects mostly cold (end of year laziness, i think i spent maybe an hour or two studying lol)
US History 780
Bio M 670
Math II 670
…looks like i’ll be retaking 2 in october lol

I wish Japanese had a non listening test, or at least offered it all the time :P

^^Does anyone know the answer to dreamzcometrue’s question? Very good question.

Meh I got a 750 on US History. I am not entirely sure how to feel but I guess that’s what happens when I only study for 9 days. Congrats to all you 800 scorers.

@dreamzcometrue

Yes, they see the test date

800 USH
800 World History

Woo! I took both because I figured that I had a shot at 800 in maybe one of the two. I am elated.

But now I have to take Math II and a science or Latin in the fall. Not really looking forward to that as much, to be honest. :/

I took both the AP world and AP B physics test this May,
and took World Hist and Physics Subject tests this June.
I absolutely did no prep work for world history.
Skimmed AP Barron’s.

For Physics, though, I reviewed some materials with Princeton Review,
I really liked the book, and I thought I was pretty up for the test.

I got 770 Physics and 750 on world history.
(I was surprised to find out my world history score… haha.)
anyways, I really do not feel like retaking these,
so I would probs end up taking some other subject tests!
haha, it was a good practice. (:

Honestly, you all need to stop complaining about scores that are EXTREMELY good. This “OMG, I got a 780 on Math II, does this mean I can’t major in math?” is terribly annoying and you are simply looking for attention. Hey, I pulled out a 720 on US and a 610 on Chem. No I won’t go to an Ivy, but there are plenty of schools that offer score choice, so I can easily erase the Chem grade off my resume. Besides, one SAT II score will not ruin your chances at any school. Why don’t you simply count your blessings for what you have instead of squabbling over 10 points on one subject test.

I think dreamzcometrue is asking whether admissions departments notice if you are a taking a subject SAT as a freshman vs. a junior? Yes, most generally they do take this into consideration. For example, if you take the Bio SAT as a freshman with only general biology class as your background and then take the exam again your junior year after completing AP Bio, most schools will look at the post-AP exam score (and AP exam score) as a better measure of your biology knowledge.

Went in cold…
Math I 760
Math II 800
