i got a 720 on math II. should i retake this in october?

Math 2: 800 hooray!
@ dot: If you think you can improve your score I don’t think it would hurt.

I think you should
you’ll most likely do better!

800s on physics and Math 2. Well, I’m done with anything involved with the SAT. Hallelujah!

I have a question about taking three subject tests on the same day, especially two sciences and a math test (ex: physics, math 2, and chemistry)…

How do you manage not to get burned out? (Especially if you are in the 750+ range)
Please provide tips.

Thanks:)

580 in Chemistry. Well I deserve it, considering I never studied for it at all… lol

Should I even send this to my first choice college (doesn’t require SAT II scores)?
I mean I’m only aiming for Southern Utah U for hopefully a BFA in Acting o__o;;

USH-800
Bio E- 770
Lit- 730

I took AP classes for both ush and bio this year and I’m pretty happy with those scores. I’m not sure what to make of my lit score, many people on this forum seems to have achieved higher scores, however, I’m a non-native speaker of English. I’ve attended boarding school in the US for the past two years though, so will colleges still be impressed by 730 since English is not my first language and has only been my primary language of instruction for the past two years. Ps: I’m aiming for the ivies.

Please don’t implicate me for the poor grammar of this post.

I took Chemistry, Math I, and Physics, and managed a 750, 760, 770 respectively. I guess since I’m so used to the SAT and ACT, I can last longer. The truth is that if you practice leading up to the test, sometimes for 2 or more hours in one sitting, you really get used to it. Find a way to relax yourself, and concentrate on the energy of the cosmos (:D). Kidding about the last part, but seriously, try to keep your mind loose, and not get too worked up. Remember, your mind controls your body. If you are tense in the mind, you will be tense in the body. Although, I would be lying if I said taking fewer doesn’t help. I took only Math II some months back, and got an 800, but then again, the curve was generous. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your tips and response in general. I’ll keep your advice in
mind and buckle up to tackle Math II, Chemistry, and Physics in October.

@Intsch you got the same scores as me! except mine was bio e - 800 ush - 770 math 2 - 730

Bio 800 chem 800 phy 780. NO MORE SATs!

haytano, I did the same thing you did and got the same scores you did
so 800 in both bio E and math II yayyyyy~

800 Math II
800 Chem
780 Physics (but i tended to do best on the physics practice tests for some reason…sigh! but its way better than i expected anyway, i thought the test was unusually hard >>)

aha i guess my two days of serious cramming got me through this…i wish i was more diligent -________-

To All Who Scored 800s or Close to it in BIO, PHY, CHE

Did you prepare for the SAT? If so how did you prepare [ie what book or method].
Appreciate your answers.

I got triple 800s on the June administration. I spent <2 weeks studying, mostly studying a lot on select days of the week. Mostly did practice tests, though I did read through a crash course for US History and some refreshers for biology. Math II is just practice and maybe inputting useful formulas into your calculator.

As for not burning out, I just don’t get exhausted easily. Before the test, I had never taken three tests in a row or anything like that. Maybe you should try that. Also, they give you 15 minute breaks in-between the subjects. You might get distracted when people are leaving after taking just 1 or 2 tests.

@rocdude, i got an 800 on Bio, so i can offer some advice here:
I started about 3 months before the test, I had been taking a comprehensive Biology course since the beginning of the year, but it was not AP or Honors (it was still very challenging, needless to say). I bought three things to prepare:
-Barron’s Review: i had heard this one went into the most detail, but it didn’t prepare me for what was to come. Tons and tons of pictures, diagrams, descriptions, and explanations! Really comprehensive if read thoroughly! This i used for all 3 months and went through about twice, doing every practice quiz and test in the book.
-SAT subject test compilation of tests (available at the college board website): I bought this about one month in, but seeing as it offered only ONE bio SAT 2 i saved it for two days before. All i can say is this is essential, but it doesn’t mean that buying it isn’t a pain in the ***. It costs about 30 bucks but only has one test per subject. Seeing as i only was taking bio, it was kind of a rip-off, but you’re taking multiple subject tests, so it should be more worth it. Anyway, back to why it is essential. The test was perfect. It had the exact balance of lab to survey questions and was nearly identical in structure to the real SAT. Get this!
-Sparknotes Bio Chart: This i bought about 2 months in, and used it for the last month and morning of the test. Its designed to cram from, but it also provides concise and comprehensive overviews of most every topic on the SAT 2. Its not essential, but it is useful.
Day of: No advice here i guess, other than do your best and be confident in your answers. Second-guessing your answers send you into a panic, and has a bad impact on both the question you are answering, and your mood for the rest of the test. The Bio SAT took me only about 45 minutes, so i thought it was relatively short, but remember, pace yourself. Everyone takes tests differently.
Good luck!

Little late here, my scores were delayed.

Math II: 800
US History: 800

Was expecting a low 700 for Math II and a mid-700 for USH. Thank God for lucky guesses and slick calculator use. With my 760 in World History from last year, I’m done with at least ONE CollegeBoard test…

Physics 800 :D

800 World History! Thank god for Barrons.

Little late but I just found out what I got:

US History: 800
Math II: 800

I wasn’t expecting an 800 for math because I thought it was harder than some practice tests I took before the exam!
