***JUNE 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

35 English
33 Math
35 Reading
33 Science
34 Composite

This was my first time taking the test. I am a sophomore at the moment so I have plenty of time to try again. Are these scores good enough for competitive schools or should I have another crack at it?

just figured out how to @ people

I went from a 26 reading to a 33 and a 28 science to a 32 with literally 0 preparation. I think that focusing was the key

@caty122333 oh no definitely not! evidently from my score lol. But I’m so mad at myself because all the other sections were 30+ and then there’s math: the eye sore of my score report.

@Honickmonster was your missed question in social studies/sciences or arts/literature?

Maybe that’s just not how it works with subscores…

C 31
E 34
M 31
R 33
S 26 (Ughhh)

So can we say that reading is -0 36, -1 35, -2 34, -3 33?
?

@emersonballer21 could it depend which type of question you missed in reading? (arts/literature or ss/science)

@1Shot1Kill Being that you are still just a sophomore, I think that you should take it again. It is not as if you are taking it for the 7th time should you take it once more. You can only go up with your score and if you do take it as a junior you will be more aware and practiced with the time constraints which (especially with the act) can only lead to a higher score.

Congratulations to everybody who achieved their scores! And for the rest, remember there is always the september exam

My status still says registered though

@Jotaro my chances at my dream school are over man, they don’t superscore. And i’m not studying rigorously like I did because clearly I don’t have the capability of getting over 29.

The ACT sure put me in my place.

35 again time to register for September 12, one day after our national holiday.

How do you get a 36 in science???

@1Shot1Kill especially with the science section as growing more and more familiar with it will only lead to a higher score.

@BCSP10 by not getting any wrong?

what is the science score prediction -1 is what?

@BCSP10 Timing was key for a 36 science for me. Six passages was a huge boon to my scores. In December, I got a 24 Science when the ACT still had seven science passages.

Does anyone know if ACT grades tests based on the group at the top of the admission ticket?

@manmusthaveacode Ok, i’ll probably retake it at some point junior year. Is a 34C good enough for most schools? I am new to the test and i’m not sure what is considered “competitive”.

Could -1 on the trig subsection be a 16? I got 36 math but my trig subscore was a 16
