***JUNE 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Score: 35 composite
35 english (wow, first practice i did got a 27)
34 math (expected something of this quality)
33 reading (after knowing i got the first question wrong about the person the writer was writing in i was really worried)
36 science (copped!!!)
34.5------35-----------harvard here we come boyyyyyyyyyy

@manmusthaveacode :open_mouth: That’s awesome… my scores arent out :frowning:

I got C: 33 E: 35 M: 34 R: 28 S: 34

I don’t get why I do so badly at reading. Do I need glasses? What do you people do to get 36’s in reading. I always feel rushed at the end and during it. I just don’t get it.

If I am good in all other areas but have a 33 ACT can I still get into schools like Stanford or Ivies? Ugh

@BCSP10 RIGHT!?! HOW??!

When do you think the second batch will be out?? Guys please HELP

@1Shot1Kill I’m not the expert when it comes to act’s as it was also my first time taking it. however, a 34 (approxiamately a 2250 sat when converted) is good enough for most schools, even the ivies. now if you want to enhance your chances (and from what i see you definitely have the chance to do) you should try to get the 36. especially looking at your science score, which i think can be improved with practice, you definitely have the potential to get the 36. Keep in mind that you just finished your sophomore year and taking it again with a little more practice is definitely more beneficial and will help in the long run. like i said previously, you can only go up from here.

@pnguon dude, you do not know how much i was contemplating my life decisions and my future while waiting for the results to come out… all i have to say is be patient and enjoy the summer. it’s not as if waiting at your computer is going to improve your test result.

@manmusthaveacode can you help me please? I’m in that exact situation right now. The past week has been excruciating for me, and now I can’t believe I must wait even longer. Literally I have horrible migraines everyday thinking about the ACT and I’m not even able to enjoy my summer :frowning: when do you think the next batch of scores will be out?

@manmusthaveacode dude… you are not alone… i was patient until i opened the thread and saw a bunch of results…
but thank you.

So I ran out of time while trying to decide which answer to choose for a Science question… chose the wrong one and realized just as the proctor said “STOP.”

@1Shot1Kill yes, a 34 is good enough for ANY school. (Yes including Harvard and all those). I don’t get why people with a 34 would consider retaking. When admissions officers are reviewing your test scores they just look quickly to make sure you’re within their ‘range’ and then move on to the rest of your application. They don’t sit down debating whether or not to let you in just because you didn’t get a 36. They don’t have time for that. My advice is don’t waste your time retaking the test; even though you’re only a sophomore and you have lots of time, I suggest you use that time to work on other parts of your application eg. Essays, SAT IIs( if your college requires them), recommendations, etc. don’t retake the test. It’s pointless.

Intl + Standby. Gosh… This is gonna be a long wait…

I am dying right now. My grave: RIP. 1999-2015. Murdered by ACT inc.

@CheckMate123 @1Shot1Kill I only think it valuable that he should take it again because he is a sophomore and naturally he will improve. how flawed/unflawed is this presumption?

@CheckMate123 Thank you for the advice! I see now that a 34 is relatively competitive at most schools so I think I’ll stick with this score for now. I went into this without prep so I might eventually prep for a little bit and try to get a 36 as a personal challenge. Plus you never know if those 2 points could set me apart.

@collgefreak just watch funny cat videos man, just watch funny cat videos.

Ughhh I might die. Actually. Is it normal to have suicidal thoughts while contemplating your ACT score?

@manmusthaveacode @1Shot1Kill Well…ultimately its up to him. Personally, if I had a 34 i wouldt retake it. I would start prepping for my SAT II subject tests as well as start working on my essay and recommendations

I got a 17 on Social Studies/Science but an 18 on Arts/Literature but got a 34 on reading… WTF? Should I write to ACT and tell them how addition works or what?

I’m shaking all over right now… I can’t believe it. I thought I would never raise my score from a 32 but I somehow got it to a 34! I’m so happy.
