My science went up SIX WHOLE POINTS LIKE WHAT THE HECK I thought I got like a 25 on it haha I guessed on almost all of it
And math went down a point, which is really weird because I actually studied for it. Guess the curve was harsher than usual.
But I’m done with the ACT! Now to retake my SAT Subject Tests ASAP and I’ll be finished with testing. Congrats to everyone who’s gotten their scores back so far - you all did great
Not sure if any curves have been posted but here is what my son received
C 35
E -1 35
M -4 35
R -1 35
S 36
I assume there are a possible max of 18 points in each section. He got a 31 16 months earlier so it is possible to bring your score up with. Besides what he learned in school classes he did practice tests in a study guide.
What does it mean if you don’t get your scores today and you don’t get a message from the sats saying they’re sorry you didn’t get your scores today etc. like I have seen other people get?
This was my first time with no study (rising Senior). Any tips on how to study for Math and Reading? It would be great to get tips for Science to since I barely finished.
Ok so I took the sat on the 6th and all I did to study was memorize some new vocabulary words because I don’t know any of them and I struggle with critical reading. I took the sat. Then the week after I decided not to study for the act. I loved this test and thought the reading section to be much more straightforward.
So I got a 28 composite
Math 36
Math is my best subject and I guess the only thing I’m good at.
Science 31
Science was a bit in the middle. I didn’t know what to expect coming from the sat and I guess I did well.
English 25
(Usage/mechanics: 12 Rhetorical: 14)
I felt rushed in this section
Reading 19
(Social studies/science 13 Arts/literature:6)
I skipped the humanities reading passage because I had no time. So I guessed b’s and c’s with one minute left.
So with my poor performances in the English and reading sections, what are some ways I could improve. This was the first time taking the act and I already know I won’t be taking the sat again. So are there any books or study guides that could help me raise my scores and read the passages faster?
@royalblood I’m no expert but I recommend quickly skimming the passages in the English section and only pausing when there is a question. Sometimes you don’t even really need to read a paragraph when they don’t ask questions about the specific functions of it/portions of it. Personally I check those questions about where to put a certain sentence or move stuff around after reading the first paragraph so I can keep that in the back of my mind. Good luck!
C: 33
E: 35
M: 35
R: 32
S: 31
better than my last test but I was really hoping for at least a 34…at least i got a 35 in math… anyone know where 33 stands in the range of scores for schools like Harvard or Penn?
I know this is nothing compared to the all the geniuses on CC, but with my C29 I can get Bright Futures so I can’t complain. Will I be able to get into University of Florida with a C29?
