This was my second time taking it, is it worth taking it again for a 35/36 in September? (Senior Year)

Is anyone aware when essay scores are usually posted?

@marchmattness13 you could take it again if you really wanted to. I don’t see why you couldn’t bump your math score by a few points if you spend the rest of the summer doing practice math sets .

@randxyx like a couple weeks from now

I finally did it: I went from a 30 to a 34.
I don’t even know how; I was shooting for a 32. XD

I Hope the rest of you exceeded your goals too.

@Kinglok12 Congrats! Went from a 30 to 34 too and all I can say is that if you’re feeling like I am, you’re on top of the world

great job guys! going from 30 to 34 is huge. im so happy with my act also after doing average in the sat

Should I retake? I’m so bummed about the math score (got an A in Calc and everything) even though the composite is decent :frowning:

I’m literally going to throw up.
I really didn’t do well for my 3rd time
.

English: 36 (which I’m really happy about)
Math: 30
Reading: 34
Science: 28

Really upset about science and math. Last time I made a 33 science, 31 math. English up two points, reading up 7 points…

I don’t even think this is a competitive score…

But my superscore is a 34.
Would a 4th retake be so bad?

@ACT33or34 I missed five questions and received a 31. Your friend missed three

Third time on the act and got a 35.25 all 3 times. so done with this test before i become a mental patient.

After thinking about it, I am simply going to retake in September. I’m dumbfounded on how my English score could go down 11 points (34 to 23) but it is what it is. I’ll take a few weeks to enjoy my summer and I’ll start studying again. I need to work on math, science and English (apparently? I am so dumbfounded). To those of us who didn’t get the scores we want, let’s stay calm! There is one more testing date.

@HeyItsNick request for a score recheck!

@emily97 33 is a really good score… I’d kill for the score… you did great! Be happy and enjoy summer

Was hoping for a 36 so this was a bit of a disappointment, but I guess I’ve gotta move on eventually. I’m pretty stoked about the 36 reading but my science went down by 1 point since my last test, which sucks. Hope that my writing score is good though, since I thought my essay was great.

I have not gotten my scores today. I checked this morning.

I have 2 questions:

  1. I took the writing component with the ACT test. Will my scores only show up when the writing scores are posted, or will they be posted before that? If my ACT scores come before my writing score, is there a chance today I will receive them? Otherwise, when is the next date when I will receive them?
  2. I have seen curves mentioned frequently on this thread. Is there a curve on the ACT? If so, is there an official site I can look at to "guess" my raw scores for my ACT test?

@emily97 I’m in the same position as you. I’ve always thought of math as my strong suit (got an A in Calc) but somehow was my lowest score and now I’m still not sure if I should retake.

@bagelgirl missed one in arts/literature, didn’t know that mattered though

I’ll definitely be retaking it in September, fingers crossed for 34/35

Second time taking it and I did worse than first time :frowning:

I really don’t know what happened to my science on this test and my math on my first test because I can’t seem to do well in both on one test, only one. Is it worth taking a third time to try to do well in both on one test or should I just submit both scores to colleges? (Rising senior aiming for Rice)
