***June 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

I think everyone on Reddit realized that the test was definitely easier however we didn’t think it was that much easier for the curve to be that harsh.

@CATDECAL thanks for the input and encouragement! I am in about the same boat as your daughter - i am going into senior year, and my december score was probably good enough for what i need, but i would like to get a better score to have a greater chance at getting into the most difficult place i am thinking of applying. However, i will take your advice on prepping more if my score doesn’t go up a couple points, and practice over the summer and take the next act. Thanks again!
@jwn9917 it was just last December, so i didnt learn a whole lot of new content. However, my math and science scores were far inferior to reading and english last time,and i felt really good on them this time, so i guess in that sense i could raise my score. Best of luck to you as you recieve your scores! Im sure you did great!

Just 3 more nights to go! :smiley: X_X
I’m soo nervous and excited, as this is my first time officially taking it :slight_smile:
I’m shooting for a 34 but I’d be satisfied with a 33. I’d be happy with a 32, but I’ll retake it if I score this or any lower.

Hope I get good scores too… again, beating myself on one question on this test (math) that was so easy but I got wrong. Hadn’t realized it until I googled the topic.

I’m trying not to expect too much so I’m not disappointed when the scores come back. I can handle the anticipation X_X

As an international student, will my scores also be ready the 21st? Or do I have to wait longer?

@GMKoon lol compound interest?

@ShadowDefuse haha, I shouldnt expect much aswell. Here I am guaranteeing myself a mid 30 when who knows, I just might end up with with a 28. Although, that would be inconsistent with my practice exams.

@AllyssXx Here is what the ACT says regarding international scores, “Most scores are available for online viewing within 2 weeks after each national or international test date.” So I think you should get yours on the 21 or around that :slight_smile:

when do scores come out?

@jjohnross MC scores come out June 21.

How much do colleges care about the writing score? I am hoping for a 33-35c, but my writing score will be abysmal.

@SnowGreen Thanks! :smiley:

I hope I have a 34C but hey, who knows…

What was the Feb 2015 curve?

Nobody knows for sure but apperently it was really harsh.

This was my first time taking the ACT. I studied a bit but I didn’t take any full length practice tests, so I’m not sure how I did. It felt like the test was really easy, but that’s not necessarily a good thing /.\

All this talk about a reused test and a horrible curve is making me nervous!

Don’t worry so much about the scale/curve. I guarantee, if June were a hard test, everyone would be complaining that the test is not fair, it’s too hard, blah, blah, blah.

Be grateful that the June test was easy. Whatever the scale looks like, you have a chance to do really well.

The ACT site is back up. When should your status change to tested if you will receive your scores on the first day? Also, is the score released Monday night at midnight (Tuesday morning) or Tuesday night?

They’ll go up Tuesday morning at 1 am EDT (12 am central time, Monday evening 11pm mountain, Monday evening 10 pm west coast). I’ve always been “tested” by 9am central, but some people don’t switch over until right before.

@jwn9917 Thanks! 9am CDT tomorrow right? Also, all the curves seem harsh including E&M (E: -3 34 M: -1-2 35).
According to CollegePanda, E: -3 35 is normal and so is M: -1 36 on the restricted curve. Finally, the curve will be exactly the same as February since the test is the same. The curve is not solely based on the month’s test takers.

That’s usually when mine usually changes, but it might be a little later. I wouldn’t panic if it’s not up right at that time.

I was hoping for a 34 composite but my best guess is a 31 composite:

English: 34
Math: 30
Reading: 29
Science: 30

Still mad i ran out of time and guessed on 4 reading questions

If I do get a 30-31 composite my first time taking it, do i have any hope of ever hitting a 34-35?
