English - little bit more challenging than last time (got a 35 in English in April), but not too bad. Hoping for the same score, but I’d settle with a 33 or 34. Finished all with 5 minutes to spare.
Reading - easier than last time (30 in April), and I only had to bubble in 3 answers instead of like 6 (I never finish any section but English lol). I feel like my reading score will go up!
Math - much easier than last time thankfully (28 in April)! Only had to randomly bubble like 4 or 5 instead of 10. Hoping my score will go up.
Science - worse than last time (27 in April)… I had to bubble in like 10. I never do well on Science. I like the SAT better BECAUSE there is no science section. I’m an English/Reading person, obviously haha.
Writing - good prompt. I wrote what I thought was a pretty good essay, minus the “eh” conclusion. I ended with a rhetorical question, so I hope that was okay. Got a 27 on writing last time (April), so I hope my score will go up. Who knows though because of the wacky essay grading phenomenon.
@theflavoridavegan samee here! English is defintiely my strong suit…it was definitely a bit tougher…especially for the first section, but I fell like i missed 3-4, math about 4-5, reading i guessed on 8 (the dual passage) yikess and science…i guessed on like 10! pls let this curve be amazing! Praying for a 30!
First time taking it at end of sophomore year. On my reading passages I was getting a 35 practice tests but then on this I guessed on 4-5 at end because of timing so that puts me at a flat 30.
Here’s what I think I got
-34 english
-31 math
-30 reading
-30 science
Science was easier than I thought it was but I guessed on last 2 but u think I’m about a flat 30.
I am just mad at myself for messing up reading because that was a section I needed a 35 on it to get a 34 composite. Timing got to me.
So I think i got a 30-31 wirh math maybe a 32, reading maybe a 29, and science 29-31
I’m gonna take it in September as a junior. Do u guys think it’s possible to go from A 30-31 (guess) to a 34?
I struggled on the second English passage but everything else seemed average. When is the last time -1 on reading was a 36? I want a nice reading curve but don’t know how generous the generous ones usually are haha.
Here are my predictions for myself:
English - 32
Math - 32
Reading - 27
Science - 28
When do scores normally come out? I took the ACT in October but I know those were delayed for whatever reason. Does it always take 5 - 8 weeks or do they come out sooner?
English: Little harder than usual, but not tooo bad. My proctor said we had 5 minutes left when we actually had like 20 so the entire class yelled at her LOL probably ruined all of our concentration.
Math: Pretty easy, although there were some questions that are usually not on the ACT.
Reading: Easy. I definitely had one of those passages when I was studying, maybe the Red Book
Science: Easy… until the 2 perspective passage, which I probably bombed
Writing: I didn’t like the prompt, and I couldn’t really come up with good examples. But I took a risk and made my writing unique (?,!, some unique syntax) so hopefully I stand out
His schoolmate got different test on English. That person said others may get different test on Reading. Is this the true that ACT changes to new version?
My son took the test this morning. His takeaway was:
Math was slightly more challenging. However, he finished and felt he will either improve or stay the same.
English went very well, thinks he will improve.
Reading is up in the air. He felt the passages were challenging, but he finished and understood all of them. He is hoping to maintain his score.
Science he finished and felt very confident. He was unsure on maybe 2 or 3. Based on how the practice tests have been going, his score should go up quite a bit.
Writing was fine. He got a 34 on the writing in April. He does not think he will improve on that score. He did enjoy the prompt.
Science has been his Achilles Heel. He finally identified a strategy that worked for him. The Science score has been dragging his composite score down quite a bit.
He spent the last three weeks studying for the exam. Due to commitments during the school year, he did not have much time to prepare for the April exam.
