@mpurd18 How do they know for sure? ACT doesn’t hand back the test in February;did nobody get a 35 in science and reading
@kassh4 It’s not for sure, but it seems as though it is likely. People on that discussion stated they got one wrong then got a 34 for the section.
Goint through all the discussion posts from 2015 leaves little doubt that it is the same test
On a semi-unrelated note, the ACT was canceled in Hong Kong and South Korea because of a breach. I bet this ties in with the test (probably) being recycled.
So wait…if you took the test in February and requested the score report where they send you a copy of the test, you could theoretically have studied that test release! Did they release the test/score report or no?
From what I’ve heard, the score report is only an option for April and June tests. So I don’t think you could have studied for it.
Hmmm…score report was an option for last December 2015 test…we have a copy at the house!
What you are talking about is not the score report, rather it is the TIR (Test Information Release). It is only available Decemeber, April and June.
If this test really was the recycled 2015 test, I’m kinda worried. I left the test thinking that maybe I did so well i got a 30 on this one, but I’m going through the Feb 2015 thread and the curve was pretty harsh. It making me so anxious… I only have 1 more chance to take the test in September and if I score horribly on this one then im pretty much screwed for applying to top schools :’(
There is still the October test right after September. The scores should come in before applying for regular decision, and more likely early decision.
You can get a score report for April,June, and December.
February 2015 is pretty recent… What if someone took both February 2015 and June 2016? That’s not an irrational situation. I almost did but forgot to register. I know for a fact some of my friends in my grade took it for the first time (as 10th graders) February 2015 but am not sure if they took it again Saturday.
Any possibility that the curve could change from that administration to this one? Are recycled tests often the exact same or do they feature a few changes?
I can’t think of a reason why they wouldn’t keep the same curve. The curve is pre determined so it isn’t based on how people do. Then again I would have never expected them to recycle such a recent test. I don’t mind recycling tests but only recycle them every 4 years that way there is no way a high school student would have the opportunity to get the same test.
I took a recycled SAT in February (January date was cancelled due to snow) and I’m pretty sure it was the same curve- if not it was very similar.
After reading through some of the posts for this last test, I’m starting to panic a bit. I was hoping to raise my score by a point or two (got a 33 the first time I tested, no studying before hand), but I’m kind of doubting it will happen by looking at everyone’s curve predictions. I hope I didn’t do as badly as I think I did; I grade myself very harshly.
I used to be pure boy. And then I hit high school and met ACT. Now I can cuss harder than anyone else.
I can confirm this was the Feb 2015 test. I took both the tests and recognized everything. Both tests were exact.
Wow im salty…Is there anything we can do about this? Surely, people who took the test lasty year will have higher scores ._.
@ExiledNoble99
Can you please give us insight on how the curve went? How many did you miss? And how well did you think you were going to do compared to your actual results.
@SnowGreen look through the feb 2015 thread, people posted their results and their thoughts
Well, I just contacted the ACT through live chat, and they said they do not recycle entire tests. But they do recycle questions.
