Well, at least my D’s was posted. She went up 2 points, but really needed to do better so she’ll take it again in Sept.

My D’s were as well.

Son just called me - he checked at midnight, no scores - got up early this morning and was rewarded with a nice score - I’m so happy for him!

W00t a 34! I’m so psyched considering I can’t break a 2100 on the sat

Congrats abasket and Xargon!

Son got a 33 but a 29 on the science part. He wants to badly go to Caltech and do physicis. I wonder if he needs to retake?

Do colleges superscore ACT’s?

Sighhh…guess I have to take the SAT this fall…XD

Some colleges will superscore, but not many. You really have to call and ask, as it is a good question.

Here’s the CC thread on schools that superscore:

Stupid June ACT!

Was it really one of the harder tests? Or do people say that everytime?

Thanks, abasket. I added the only 2 schools I knew that superscore.

I don’t think June was any harder. You’ll always have some kids who did better, some kids who did the same, and a few who may have done worse.

June 2009 was the second ACT test I took, and I thought that the test itself went better overall in comparison to my first test experience in April 2009. I couldn’t tell you if it was easier, but my score did improve from 32 to a 35.
I checked at about 1 that morning, and called my parents about it… They were pretty stoked.

^^ihs76: I would prolly ask your son about how he felt he did. If he thinks that he could do better on the science, then he shoudl def go for a higher score. If it was his first time, I would take it again just for kicks and giggles to see what happens. Personally, I found that ignoring most of the random scientific jargon that tells you surrounding the experiment and just focusing on what each individual question was asking worked well.

People always say that their administration was one of the harder tests. And it’s true that the tests do vary in difficulty, but that’s what scaled scores are for – they scale the scores to adjust for difficulty levels in the test’s material. A 29 from a very hard administration is the same as a 29 from a relatively easier administration, because the 29 from the easier one is less forgiving – more errors can be made on the harder administration and one can still garner a 29.

32 again… wahhhh

My math dropped 3 points, and my reading jumped 5 points.

***…!!!

my score jumped 2 points to a 35, which is what i was hoping for! i think generally the second time around is much better (at least that’s my experience and that of my peers). most of the complaints about the act come from the time restraints on science and reading, so being familiar with the atmosphere is definitely a plus.

I got a
34 on reading
33 on math
35 on science
35 on English
34 composite
Combined with good gps and ecs could this get me to stanford?
