June Madness Pool: When will HRC call it quits

For some the day comes too early; for others, way too late.

The question is no longer about if but about when. So, let’s dive into some speculation.

My take is that it will be over in 48 hours.

Thursday 10 a.m.

How do I know my superdelegate’s website?

If there’s really a pool going, I’d like to take Inauguration Day.

if you guys want some serious pooling, you need to go over to the demconwatch blogspot. Youdon’tsay - you might be in the minority over there that it will go to Thursday.

teri, don’t feed my internet addiction. I’m staying put right here! :)

well, I’ve spent the last almost three weeks (in between car trips and plane rides) recovering from a cold that devolved into a ruptured ear drum (during the flight) and bronchitis, then had a nasty reaction to the steroids and antibiotic they put me on, so I’ve been a captive audience for political forums. However, I will say, despite a post here or there on CC, this is the most civil forum of any I’ve found, even the ones that are in the majority, democrat supporters, so I don’t blame you for not straying.

I’m with Youdon’tsay- this ordeal will be over by Thur am at the latest.

fingers crossed Wednesday just seemed like to much to hope for, so I went with the extra day.

Of course, then we move to VP choices, and that will be a mess.

When will HRC “call it quits”, I’d say somewhere around the year 2016.
As to this election not sure she’ll ever call it quits but Obama should have the delegates by Wednesday morning, although the “plan” is to hope enough superdelegates come out today and tomorrow so the election results of tuesday nite put him over the top.

So, to skirt around the question, I think he’s the nominee Tuesday, she’ll make some acknowledgment on Thursday that will be fairly vauge, leaving some wiggle room.

Interestingly, ABC News’ reports that in speaking to a crowd in SD this a.m. Bill has stated that today could be the last time he has such an active role in presidential politics.

Translation: he and HIllary know it is the end and they ain’t doin’ squat to help Obama, just as they did nothing for Kerry or Gore. They’ll hope for a Mcain win and one term and back at it in 2012.

They are, have and always will put themselves above anything and everything else.

I think it will end this week unless there is some truth to the story of the Michelle Obama tape. For the record, I don’t think there is, but one can never say never, right?

Agree completely re: the alleged Michelle Obama tape. If it exists, Obama is toast, done and over.

But, if it really exists, cannot believe why the Clinton camp hasn’t acted on it.
This smacks too much of Karl Rovian tactics, just floating this rumor out there.

"<a href="Breitbart News Network;

Could this be a hint?

What tape?

Is the Michelle Obama Tape a Matter of Enunciation?

A really interesting theory about the alleged Michelle Obama tape, which could explain a lot, from the liberal blog Booman Tribune. Michelle, offering a speech critical of President Bush, offers a refrain of “why’d he” — the words “why did he” mushed together — that sounds like “whitey” on the tape.

Apparently, if the tape ever comes to light, her words will sound something like:

Whitey cut folks off Medicaid?
Whitey let New Orleans drown?
Whitey do nothing about Jena?
Whitey put us in Iraq for no reason?*

…when the intended message is,

Why’d he cut folks off Medicaid?
Why’d he let New Orleans drown?
Why’d he do nothing about Jena?
Why’d he put us in Iraq for no reason?

Teri, I’m betting that’s what it is. This is not a stupid woman, and I just can’t imagine her using the other term. It would be so vulgar.

Oh, please! I am literally LOL over here. But I guess people will hear what they want to hear so we’ll just see how this plays out.

Off topic, but, I didn’t want to start a new thread for this - just heard Dick Cheney at the National Press Club, very nice Q & A session; the last question to him was “is it true that you and Barack Obama are related”…turns out they are, they are 8th cousins. I didn’t know that - Cheney gave this long explanation of the family tree that I couldn’t retain - anyway, I have always liked Cheney, I knew there was some reason I liked Obama too…

He also said he asked his wife what she thought of people calling him “Darth Vader” (sp??) - apparently she told him “it helps; it humanizes you.” :)

Back to the topic, he was talking about vice presidents, and he said both McCain and Obama are going to soon announce their running mates - he made this statement so smoothly, just very “matter of fact”, clearly, in his mind, this is already “over”.

That tape could be a very real problem, even if it’s likely that it’s ambiguous and was not meant in that way. What I really hope doesn’t happen is some anti-Obama group holds it for now and releases it once Obama is the nominee. That would be a disaster.

Drudge is reporting that Senator Clinton is going to give a speech in New York this week.

1of42, it seems to me that if she were saying “why’d he” there would be a reference to President Bush preceding those words and if there is, non-issue.
