June SAT this Saturday.. nervous much? Tips for CR.

So my goal is to get around 2100. Definitely over 2000. But anyways, I’m just taking practice tests now for review. Any tips for the Critical Reading?

The Kaplan Method says read passages first when it’s long. When the passages are short, read the questions first. Do you find that effective? I’ve done this method and it works pretty well but I just worry alot about time. I think the time restraints make me more nervous than anything.

Does the method of reading the questions first no matter what work better when it comes to time? I did that method with AP English Language exam and it worked pretty well but when I tried it on the actual practice SATs, my reading became a bit erratic and I couldn’t really organize or think straight.

Any opinions?

bumping it up. =]

i think this comes down to each person’s ability. for you, it may cause a time restraint while for others it may be effective. i think the best tool for you to utilize is the feedback you’re getting from your own practice tests. if you find yourself unable to think straight, your score is going to be dramatically affected. so, my advice would to do what you’re comfortable with - try a practice test not using the kaplan method and see what method yields better results.

Thank you. I’m definitely going to time myself and try both methods tonight.

No problem!
