Junior and transfering

I am a Junior in college and am considering transfering.

I do enjoy the university that i go to, the campus, the classes and the like, yet i am considering trasfering.

There are two reasons for this:

The rising costs of tuition and fees

My health

I could live at home and go to the local uni (University of colorado at denver), and be less than twenty miles away from it. I would not have to worry about housing fees and i would just have to pay tuition and their assosiated fees as well.

However, i do not think my grades are good enough for transfer (currently i hold a 2.641 gpa).

A year ago i had a bad semester with me being very sick (eventually ended up having to have my gallbladder removed), and my grades suffered. The day of surgery i was scheduled to move back on campus for the following fall term. Instead i opted to take online courses to keep myself enrolled and to give myself something to do (i am still doing this because i am undecided).

Unforcenently, with my sickness my paranoia for food and, consequently, allergic reactions skyrocketed (i had an allergic reaction to an antibitoic whilst i was at school, was not fun at all). My paranioa of food stems from the fact that i could barely keep anything down, and what i did keep down killed me.

Anyway, needless to say i am unconfertable about being away from home.

Thats why i thought it would be a good idea to just continue my schooling from home.

I am unsure, however, how i would go about doing this. Thier website mentioneds an index score (which i have no idea what it is).

So, by chance, do any of you guys know how to transfer and what is involved? I am planning on contacting the university in question.

rats… it looks like its on ly 2.7 or higher… -sigh0

Some (most?) colleges won’t let you transfer once you are a junior, you might check the school’s website.

The SUNYs and CUNys (NY public schools) allow up to 90 credits in transfer, but I think that admission to most generally requires more than the mimimum stated GPA.

Students still have to meet core, major requirements, so finishing in one year can be tough.

I applaud state schools that do this. Kids who run out of money should have options.
