I was wondering if Junior College athletes can receive an athletic scholarship from a D1 school after playing one year of Junior college basketball and transfer to that D1 school for his/her sophomore season.

I don’t see why not, but it certainly depends on the school. You should start contacting D1 schools as soon as possible though, because most are probably almost done recruiting for a 2015 start.

On the other hand, D1 basketball has 13 spots so you have a decent spot at getting a full scholarship if the school really wants your position and lost a freshman from last year. But you have to start trying to find them, and you certainly can ask the coach about your situation.
