junior courseload

Honors chem is a really difficult course at my school with a high cutoff for an A, making an A- a probable score as opposed to an easy A+ in chemistry. And then since I’m not planning on being a science major, and I’m aiming for a more liberal arts-oriented school like Gtown or Columbia, will it have an impact?

Just for reference, my schedule this year was:

Social Justice (Sem 1) A
Photo 1 (Sem 2) A
Hon. English II A (Prob A- in 2nd semester)
Hon. Western Civ. A+ A+
Hon. Algebra 2 A- (A- or A 2nd semester)
Honors French 2 A A
Biology A A

Will taking honors chemistry significantly influence the way a school like Georgetown views my application? Especially, since I’ll be applying to SFS…

This is what my junior schedule will look like:

AP US History
AP English 3
Honors Precalculus
Honors French 3
Faith of Catholics and Photography II’
And then either Chemistry or HOnors Chemistry

Will taking Honors Chemistry make that big a difference?

I’ll also be taking SAT prep, competing at numerous national TOC-bid tournaments, do 40-50 hours of community service, pretrail attorney on Mock Trial, writer for the school newspaper, and volunteer for CA gubernatorial campaign in the first few months

If I get SATs above 2200 do i have a good chance at G-town?

Yes 2220 are fine for Gtown. But you need to take Honor Chemistry. It’s pretty much exspected that if you apply there, all your classes are honors level. It may come across as being as lazy, as well.

Thanks for the help.

haha, I was hoping for a different answer, but if that’s what it takes, there’s no harm done.
