The Geometry is really going to hurt you I’m really sorry. It’s not just because you’re a year behind though. The SAT tests Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, so you’ll have to take it in your junior year, but you’d still be unprepared by not having Algebra 2. And having bad SAT scores makes it even harder to get into a good school :’( I’m really sorry.

But then… For one of your courses how about Algebra 2? Geometry and Algebra 2 can be taken in any order, so now would be the best time to take it so you would be prepared for the SAT Your school probably has Geometry as a requirement for Algebra 2, but it really isn’t. The thought process learned in Geometry is mainly what that is for, but if you can work hard enough, it shouldn’t be too big a deal. But if your math skills aren’t the best, this could be pretty bad. Sorry for giving such bad advice >_< But still, Algebra 2 is an option :)

For your other class, are there any honors/AP classes that are available for you? :)

@LosingCrayon Hey! Thanks for the advice! I actually already took the SAT . I do Saxon math, so its sorta advanced. lol. My math scores on the SAT were bad, but still above the 50th percentile. My reading/writing scores were both about the 80th percentile. I took the SAT my sophomore year, but will definitely take it again 1-2 times. I will be taking Algebra 2 or a college math class next semester or in 2 semesters. No honours or AP’s at my school! About the other classes, do they look OK? As I said, I don’t care about Ivy’s, just a good Christian school. And I was accepted as a DE student at my first choice Christian college even with my not so great math scores…

The kinds of schools you are looking at will likely look at the whole person and not just a score. Do EC’s that you enjoy and have meaning for you. Collect evidence that you are capable of math even if you are behind. As for your list, Earlham stands out as being different than the other two. If you expect your beliefs to be respected, it might work, if you expect everyone to share your beliefs you might be surprised. To answer your question, others have given good advice, but don’t despair about the math. If you have a good story about your situation, share it with Admissions. As a Junior, especially now before admissions is overrun with work it might be good to talk to Admissions at the schools you are thinking of. They should give you time, and if you are honest with them they will be honest with you and help you in your process. They want you to succeed, and the staff as the smaller LACs would likely be happy to give advice.

Yes, I know that I am behind at math. Which is very embarrassing. Would it be possible to get into Wheaton IL? Is that a terrible selective school?
