Junior ROTC @ prep schools?

Does any of the top prep schools have Junior ROTC for extracurricular activities?

Im going to Exeter next year and I was thinking the same thing

It seems military academies have junior R.O.T.C. programs. [AMCSUS: Directory of Military Schools & Military Colleges](http://www.amcsus.org/page.cfm?p=64&start=1&filter_data42=1)

@horseflyer: If ROTC is that important to you, wouldn’t you have asked during your application/interview process or revisit?

To the OP: If you are open to thinking outside the more famous New England prep schools, I’d suggest looking at Culver Academy in Indiana.

Thanks for all the responses as this was my first post. It doesn’t look like any of the famous preps have JROTC from the searching I’ve done and the feedback here.

Do any of you know if some kids go to the military academies or join the military during or after prep schools from HADES?

If you find the college profile for various prep schools on their web sites (usually in the college counseling section), you’ll find a list of colleges that the kids have gone to, usually over the past 5 five years. I think it’s pretty rare to head to a service academy from most prep schools (only one over the past 5 years from my kids’ school).

Two St. Mark’s graduates are headed to the U.S. Naval Academy this year.

There is interest on the part of one incoming girl prep at Exeter to start a JNROTC group. Let’s see if she does it (there is a member of the staff who could be the officer in charge…)

@interest: Looks like at least one graduate from Western Reserve Academy will be heading to the Naval Academy. <a href=“News Post”>News Post;

I’ve heard some even join the reserves while still in high school/prep schools.

It’s not a make or break thing for me, I was just interested :)
