collegeboard has given me tons of popups on their website for sending SAT score reports to various universities. as a junior, what am i supposed to do?

i have took the march SAT… and got a veryyy good score, i might add. I already took some SAT IIs: i got a 790 (com’on!) on chem and 740 in world history. I plan to take math IIc in june.

should i send scores now? i plan to apply to places like USC, Berkeley, to stanford, mit, etc.
i read somewhere that if i sent a good score early then i might recieve more information, etc from the top schools who are more interested in you.

also, how does the 4 free sends work? what is a ‘send’? 1 send per university, or is 1 send one test (probably not), or is 1 send to everything? i plan to apply to 10ish unis XD

When you apply for a test, you can designate up to four colleges in the application which will automatically be sent your scores by College Board when they are released and you do not pay any extra for that send to those four colleges. You can actually add to or change that list on-line up until a specified date before the test score is released. Moreover, CB when it sends that new score will also automatically send all your prior scores unless you choose to do otherwise and withhold one or more prior scores.

Those “free” sends disappear as soon as a score comes out – if you did not designate colleges before the score is released the free sends for that test are lost.

In your case there is no real reason to order CB to send your scores now particularly because they will cost $10 per college (to send all or any number you want to send) since all your scores have been released and thus you have no existing free send option. However, if you want to save some money, you can designate four colleges for receipt of your June test score on your June application file, and when that comes out that score and all prior ones will be sent to the four designated colleges. Beyond the four colleges, you will still need to pay $10 per college for CB to send the June and prior scores.
