Junior Year Schedule

Hi, I was wondering which of the following schedules I should have considering I have to study for standardized tests and have extracurriculars
I am planning on going into math/science fields. Any reply would be useful. Thanks in advance!

A.
Marching Band
Regular English
AP Bio
APUSH
AP Chem
AP Physics
AP Calc AB

B.
Marching Band
AP Lang
AP Bio
Regular US History
AP Chem
AP Physics
AP Calc AB

C.
Marching Band
Regular English
AP Bio
Regular US History
AP Chem
AP Physics
AP Calc AB

D. any other options?

I would not take 3 science APs. (Would I want to? Probably.) Have you gotten to level 3 or 4 in a language (or maxed one out, if your school only offers one or two levels)? Are there any electives you want to take?

I also don’t know if it is a good idea to do 3 science APs- can’t you save one for senior year?
I would recommend APUSH, unless you really hate history.
Where is a language? If you’re aiming for top schools they want to see 3-4 years.

I’ve taken two years of language above AP level so i thought it would be fine without it @yonceonhismouth
Also I want to take a bio course that requires AP Bio. I wanna take up to ap physics 2 (ap physics one is necessary) and I just did chem and am planning to take the subject test

really struggling with this… would it look bad on college apps if i just take math and science aps for junior year @yonceonhismouth

I am above AP level for the language i took during the first two years of HS. @awesomepolyglot

I don’t know if it would look bad- maybe it wouldn’t since you clearly are more interested in the sciences

Another vote for not taking 3 AP sciences, especially AP Bio and AP Chem, concurrently. While it may be different at your school, these classes, are generally a huge time suck. Not only do you have the “normal” increased workload of an AP class, at many schools, each of these courses is either a double-period or requires before/afer school requirement for labs. Save one of them for senior year.

Despite what many on this forum say, AP Chem is not needed for the Subject Test AP Chem is college Chem and the subject test tests HS chem. Would you be more comfortable taking the Subject Test with AP Chem experience? Maybe, but for me it would not be worth the stress of taking 3 AP sciences concurrently. Take the bio Subject Test instead.

Is the language you are above AP level at, a foreign to you language? Or how else can you be above AP level by junior year of high school?

I would take AP or regular English, AP or regular history, AP Bio (since you need it as a prerequisite), AP Calc (and physics if you want).

Then you can take AP chem senior year if you want.

OK thanks guys @mommdc @skieurope @yonceonhismouth
