Junioritis, Class of 2012

@ghuskies: i knowww ! actually i only found out last week that vassar was a really good college. i guess because its 20min away, i just thought of it as a local school. i would never go though… WAYY too close. on the topic of cars, i have a car ! my dad bought it so “motivate” me to learn faster . i just think he wants to get out of driving me and my brothers around.
@black: thats actually really cool ! hope you have fun!

EDIT: Marine!!! JOBSS ! with an S ! i cant even get a job . im just hoping for this internship

@ada: What kind of car do you have!?
And good luck on your internship!! -too lazy to read the other pages- What are you interning for?

a honda accord 02. i may get a mercedes for graduation when my dad is sure that i wont total it . (and i think its a bribe so i can stay within a 4 hr driving distance) ;

im interning at Vassar Hospital … honestly i dont know what i’ll be doing but my moms friend works there so she’ll find something.

Ooh awesome grad present :smiley: I have no idea what will happen to my car in college. I’ll only get to drive it if I go to UW but any out of state school… :frowning: sad to think I won’t be able to drive around!
Ada, I have to drive my brother around all the time >__< but my parents both work 40ish minutes away so I have to!

Ooh okay! Some of my friends said their parents offered them cars for graduation if they stay in the city, lol.

And that’s cool! Idk what I’m gonna be doing at Vandy hospital either, haha. I’m sure it’ll be fun though :D

both of my parents work an hour away :frowning: so until i learn , im stuck at home. like today !
-____-

but colleges dont let you drive freshman year right ?

If I get accepted into Chapman and pass the State’s driving test ( I have no idea how I am going to, American cars are going to alien compared to be British ones). I will most likely buy…

Volkswagen Eos (07 Plate)
MINI Cooper (Anything above the 05 plate)
Smart Roadster
Mitsubishi Eclipse (06+ Plate)

Would love to drive in America as well. BIG ROADS!

Some colleges let you drive freshman year. I know USC does but Vandy doesn’t.

For some reason I want a Honda Civic. Don’t judge. :D

I almost got a honda civic coupe! 2006+ models. But in the end insurance was a little higher for a 2 door so I got a Toyota corolla S (it’s a little lighter than the standard corolla and it is the sporty version?) idk…haha. But Hondas and toyotas are very reliable!

Haha, that’s such a British car. A lot of “chavs” drive it. It’s pretty good either way, I always wanted a Ford Edge or a Bugatti Veyron. No money for those though.

How bad is Car Insurance over there?

Haha my brother just got a Toyota corolla. :stuck_out_tongue:
My cousin drives a 2008 BMW. Maybe if she doesn’t want it anymore by the time I graduate, I’ll have it :D

-has no idea how bad car insurance is- ghuskies, can you elaborate? :O

okay question: gwu has you make an account in order to schedule visits, interviews, attend certain events for highschools AND do your application. ive had an account for a few months now and i’ve gone to a few of their events. should i start the application now or wait ?

If you want, you can start it now. It never hurts to start early.
I’ve already started a few of my apps :p

Yeah, I say go for it. I finished my application for Chapman University not long ago, I am just waiting for Common Application to open it.

I heard the Common App terminates accounts after the class of 2011 application period is over.
Is that true?

Just want it to be summer already! then senior year should fly by

@marine: i think so !
@Pino: AMEN !

@PiNOxX: Are you Filipino? Lol but I agree!
My last quarter of junior year starts Monday :frowning: :)

Oh you’re on quarter system? We do semester and it’s a pain…two looong stretches.

I don’t know how high my insurance is but it’s higher than both my parents combined I believe. Our insurance gives us a discount because I’m a girl (boys are higher, but the rate goes down with age I think) and I have good grades (you get discounts for that too). I’ve been driving for almost a year (bday in a month) so I’ll get more money sliced off :slight_smile: I’m guessing around $100+ a month for insurance?

I wish i had a car. I’m stuck driving my dad’s archaic Mercedes (Really old and the engine is a piece of work) when he lets me.
