lol! i totally love yale but not applying EA. oh well =P probably gonna go with MIT!

and haha I love how we all assume some ppl are girls/guys b/c of their usernames. you don’t make a mistake with mine ;)

I’m 99% sure Yale is my top choice. If I get in, I might apply to Harvard and Princeton for fun, but most probably would matriculate at Yale.

Yay Yale! I love it so much.
So how hard will it be to get in early next year?

EA should be around 15-16% acceptance, RD around 5%. General insanity. I think test scores are going to have a bigger impact next year with so much volume. There just isn’t going to be as much time per application.

^ That is insane! I only hope they really look at applications subjectively and our entire profile, as opposed to just test scores. One can only hope. (Sighs)

^i agree. As more and more people began to apply, schools who traditionally use a holistic method of admissions will probably skew more towards the “numbers” method practiced by large state universities.

I’m still deciding whether to apply SCEA. I’m doing a huge college roadtrip starting this weekend (spring break!) and hopefully by the end of it, I’ll have a clear EA plan. Right now, it’s between SCEA at Yale and EA at MIT/UChicago/Caltech. Either way I’m also applying to UMich rolling. :)

i feel doubtful though. my essays are going to have to shine, as my ECs are kind of lackluster for an ivy’s standards.

It doesn’t look like there’s going to be EA next year. I know a current student there, and he’s almost positive it’s going to be gone. Nothing official yet though.
