Just a little Postcard fun

Just an idea to mix things up a bit. When you send postcards, send postcards that are NOT from the location you are in. Just a fun thing to send/receive, particularly if you enjoy going against the grain or the person receiving the card does.

I like to send international locations when I’m domestic and vice-versa. I also like stockpiling vintage cards that I find over the years and bringing them on trips (they take so little room).

What can I say, I guess I’m just a ‘weather is here, wish you were beautiful’ kinda guy.

Anymore out there?

When we lived in Germany, I used to send my S postcards from wherever we were. Mainly so he would get mail once in awhile. We just moved him home in June - he had just finished grad school and it’s the first time all his stuff had been in one place since 11th grade. He is gone again, but most of his stuff is here. I found all of the postcards I sent him - many from Germany, but also Sweden, Rome, Venice, etc.

So I found an old wooden poster frame, and just yesterday I made a collage out of all the cards.

But I do try to send cards that match the locale.

I didn’t have time to write all the German postcards I meant to while there, so may just follow your advice and send them from the Bay Area.
