<p>I was placed on the waiting list of a liberal arts college. but it doesn’t seem that any place will be open during this summer. IF a student at this college requests a gap year for some personal reasons, could that make an open space for me because there’s a space among the returning student body? </p>

<p>Yeah, i would think so…you mean if someone in the college says they want to “drop out” ? cuz technically that’s what they’d be doing…and by doing such action, i’d think he’d leave campus and a spot open for a waitlisted person - yes. </p>
