Just a question (Opinions valued)

Sorry, I know this is the wrong forum for this, but I have a question. I was accepted into National Honor Roll (I know, not a big deal), and they have this opportunity where you can have them send out a notification to colleges of your choice, stating your stats and asking them for more information about their school.

So I was wondering if I should partake in this or not. I would like to get more information about the schools, but then some people say NHR is kind of a negative thing.

So, I’d really appreciate some honest opinions.

Thanks! :)

It can’t hurt to let a college know they are your number one choice. But, realistically, it’s not going to be a huge asset.

That’s true. But my thoughts are the same on letting them know they are my top choices.

Thank you! Anyone else?

Don’t bother, the National Honor Roll thing is a scam, and is pretty much disregarded completely by colleges. Why bother having them send your stats to colleges for a fee when you yourself will be doing so with your college applications? Plus, there are better ways to ask colleges for more information, such as visiting the school, or simply emailing people within the college for more info. That in itself would show more interest in a college than having a scam do it for you.

Yeah that’s what I was wondering. If I email the school, will they send me a brochure or something?

Probably a viewbook or something. You could also get more in-depth info about the department of the college you wish to get into.
