Just another reason why Michigan is one of the best comprehensive universities

“The gift, the largest ever in the nation to an arts and design school, was formally accepted by the Board of Regents during its regular meeting Thursday.”

oh thank god, the art is well funded

I can now sleep easy

Get out your iPod & your iPhone. Do you like they way they look? That’s Art & Design.

Without art, there would be no civilization as we know it today.

After so many recent cuts in funding to the arts all across the country, it’s encouraging to see something like this.

I agree with entenduintransit. I love the fact that Michigan takes programs such as Architecture, Art, Music, Nursing etc… so seriously. It is precisely this commitment to academic diversity that makes Michigan so special.

Besides, if Art were truly not an important field, why do so many elite universities work hard at maintaining world-class programs? Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, NYU, Penn, Texas-Austin, UCLA, Wisconsin-Madison and Yale to name a few.
