if they were mailed today, i think i may actually get mine thursday/friday. my northwestern letter was mailed last friday and arrived yesterday (monday.) of course, chicago is relatively close to here.

wow, its scary to hear a concrete date from the admissions office…

Well…if it was mailed yesterday (the 29th)…and UChicago uses courrier mail…it should reach people in Asia by the 1st or the 2nd. Northwestern mailed my acceptance by FedEx International Economy…so assuming Chicago uses the same thing, should get to Asia on the 2nd. Unfortunately that doesn’t beat the Ivies.

Intl’s will receive some form of notification by Thursday; I am almost 100% sure of that. I got my EA deferral notice by email two days after Chicago said decisions were mailed out–it actually took another two or three days to get the official notice (so about 4-5 days total), and I only live in Canada.

One of the other posters (MerryXmas?) actually mentioned that acceptances will probably take a few more days because they come in a big folder. If that’s true, it’s going to be one stressfull week for you (hopefully us) acceptees, esp with all the decisions coming in on this thread :P.

Int’l students get their acceptances courriered, and their rejections/waitlists via e-mail. I don’t think I want to check my inbox for the next few days!!!

Hey configure! I do A Levels and I was remarkably stupid enough to choose A2 Biology sobs I hate it! I should have done Physics or History, I’m sure they would have been easier. Do you do Literature?

made the mistake of starting an entire 5th A level (further math) a couple of monthes into my 12th, though, so plenty of work coming in from there.

A level history, me boy, can be such an incredible pain - but its nice if you like history. almost definitely better than bio, imho - but then, i’m not a big fan of bio.

well, mates, i just came back from my chem exams and i’m quite happily sitting and listening to Mr. Scruff. (“There’s a whale, there’s a whale”). I’m joining my voice to all the others in prayer, btw - hoping not to get an email.

Well, I’m not *entirely sure/i, but a couple of people e-mailed the admissions office (see the International Decisions thread) and apparently received this reply:

"Decisions will be sent on or around April 1st. Those who have been admitted will receive a currier [sic] package. Applicants who have been put on the waitlist or denied will receive an unofficial email notification and a first class letter. Thank you for your patience. "

It makes sense because it’d be a huge waste of $$$ if they sent all decisions via courier; it’s cheaper if they just do the acceptances that way.

So… let’s hope none of us get the dreaded e-mail!!! I’ve been dreaming about the fat, juicy package for days now. Which courier service do they use? I’m assuming it’s Federal Express.

configure - anything’s better than bio!!! Well, except maybe Further Maths. You have my respect for tackling such a nasty subject (I’ve heard horrible things about it from friends)

If this e-mail business is indeed real, does anyone know when they sent it out or will send it out?

Also, does anyone know if fedex or ups delivers on weekends? To my knowledge, they only deliver on business days (aka weekdays). Are there exceptional cases?
