Just curious.. How do you THINK things turned out for me?

Lucky Star Boy, Congratulations on Madison - I also live in the Twin Cities and didn’t realize the Maple Grove schools were ranked so high - to what ranking are you referring?

UCLA also looks at SATIIs, right along with SATs. You don’t mention them, but I am guessing they were quite strong.

Benjo, I graduated from wayzata… that’s the ranking that I was referring to. I’m not sure if it’s an official ranking, but they always just told us that we were #34.

I know for a fact that it’s the LARGEST high school in the state.

And a few months ago they had College Jeopardy there.

tell me you got into UCLA. That school is not that hard for somebody like you to get into, unless you’re not a Californian.

yo saying Vandy is harder to get into than cornell or carleton is bs

and turning down Carleton for Wisc is just silly

cant take the cold, boy??

wait are you talking about Carleton in Canada? is that a good school? my cousin goes there and i always thought it wasn’t that great :s what’s so good about it?

oops nvm, carleton COLLEGE

Assuming you are not a “recruited” athlete (which would get you into Harvard), accepted everywhere except for Harvard and Carleton.

Yikes, I posted before seeing our results.

Congrats. Vandy surprises me… you seem right up their alley. I take it you didn’t want to keep going with baseball… seems like Carleton would have been good for that.

This sort of thread is actually a really good idea. I’d be interested to see a lot more of this sort of thing.

And congratulations on your schools.

Yess… Vandy came as a shock to me too. It was my least favorite one that I applied to though. I didn’t take it too seriously.

And I’m talking about Carleton in Northfield, MN.

I really wanted to go to UNC, but to hell with that. Getting in OOS is impossible. Wisconsin was the next best thing.

After edit: I see you were mentioning Wayzata, rather than one of the high schools in the Osseo-Brooklyn school district. And I see your high school teachers didn’t mention what list was the source of “#34.” I’ve seen lots of top 100 high school lists with NO high schools from Minnesota. I think Edina is STILL the most prestigious public high school in Minnesota, not without competition on Wayzata’s part, and Eden Prairie is still the largest.

Didn’t expect this.

Tokenadult, I have NO idea what list they were referring to. It’s something i’ve come to believe, however, since it is a very large school in a very high-buck area, the ACT/SAT scores soar above the national averages, and the whole place is shiny and new.

But you’re right… there was no good citation of that. I didn’t use that fact on any applications though.

What he said except UCLA rejected
I’m pretty sure you got into Harvard

Oops my browser didn’t show me the other pages…

2e4L, what are you talking about?

Haha sorry I was on page 1 and I was referring to the ostensible poster above me.

bump, can more ppl do threads like this one?
