Just curious- what does the number in your eli account user id signify?

I agree with rockermcr. I have an uncommon first name and an extremely uncommon French last name (im originally from France) and my number is .2 so i really doubt they ever put .1

Same with me. The way I spell my last name is really uncommon so I bet 2 means you’re the first. Yay for us firsties!

Yay for firsties!

yeah im #2 as well and NO ONE has the same last name as me (besides my immediate family of course)

The number is nothing (I think), although if you get accepted (which I hope many CCer’s will) it becomes your netID you use to log into the Yale computer network. Also you application number (the really long one) becomes your student ID. Good Luck to all of you. And if you get in be sure to join the Progressive Party!

Also there was a LONG thread about this last year to see if it correlated to something and I doubt it. My end number was a 4.

Dbate: aww, now you’ve got me dreaming sigh :P

Yes, it doesn’t mean much except maybe that your surname is uncommon. I’m #2 also, and my last name is fairly uncommon.

I have a 2.

235…screwed, much? lol

Is there any potential correlation to stats?

^i mean, no one here knows with 100% certainty, but from what people have said, i really really don’t think that is the case.

Right, it seems not to be. After all, the accounts were likely issued before comprehensive reviews were made.

yeah, that’s true.

my number is 6 but i have a fairly common last name hmm

I’m a 2 and am fairly positive that no one has had my last name before, as it’s hyphenated.

It’s probably used to sort the online accounts by region.

mines 36, I have a common-ish last name among chinese

maybe your number denotes the place of your application among applicants from your state. So if you got 2, then you were the second person from your state to turn in an app…
I got 4, I’m from Nevada, and I sent my app in like on 10/31…so it’s a possibility.

I’m three…from Nebraska so maybe theres something to that

I think the last name thing is the best deduction. Everyone with 2’s, including myself, have all attested to the fact that their last names are not common.
