<p>I’m pretty sure it’s the total number of people who’ve applied to Yale early in the history of online eli account notification because my number is 258. Don’t think there’s 258 people with my first initial and last name applying just this year.</p>

<p>People in previous threads on the same topic came to the conclusion that x.xxxx.2 means that you are the FIRST one to have such a combination of initial and last name. Why it doesn’t start with 1? I remember people speculating about this last year. Let me find those threads.</p>

You made the BIGGEST mistake on the entire app. You didn’t report your race. These applications are sent to the YBI. The Yale Bureau of Investigation. They search your records till they find your race and then send it off to the corresponding admissions committee. If they can’t find it… you get put with the asian pile. Who else wouldn’t report their race in fear of being rejected due to our quotas?

<p>I have an extremely uncommon last name (there are probably around like 25-30 people in the world who have it, and they’re all related to me, AND most of them live outside of North America) and my number is 2. So I think it would make sense that 2 is the lowest number they give.</p>
