We moved her in yesterday. We are from central Texas - 109 miles from our driveway to Snider Hall. Move-in went well, thanks to the current students and staff. The family “cookout” was held inside the dining hall and President Turner stopped in to welcome everyone. Peruna and his handlers were out and my daughter got to give him a few pets. Typical August heat. The large vats of iced-down bottled water near the dorms was a nice touch. Already miss her a lot.

As a graduate and parent of a current theatre student at SMU, I just want you to know it is a GREAT place and they should have a wonderful time:). Beautiful campus, great location (and YES, it will cool down!)…my son is a junior in the theatre program and LOVES IT!!!

beachmom24, Can you tell us a little about the theatre and dance department? Are most students from Texas? I have heard that their dance department and theatre department are excellent. What percent of students do they accept? I think my daughter and I will be heading down there this fall for her to audition for dance.
