Just for fun -- Haiku!

geek_mom, I thought so.
But given my Friday Brain,
I figured I’d check.

coolweather, S1
saw the midnight IMAX show
and was underwhelmed.

A haiku virgin
I don’t know why I waited
Maybe I’ll repeat

Parents’ haiku thread
is my second-favorite place
here. (Meta-thread rules.)

It’s raining again.
I did see the sun today -
the mushrooms twinkled.

HarrietMWelsch,
did somebody switch you to
decaffeinated? ;)

(Decaf coffee is
like non-alcoholic beer –
what on earth’s the point?)

As to the movies,
geek_son and a date enjoyed
Angels and Demons.

Wish it would rain here!
We got a teensy drizzle,
only cloud spittle. :p

Youdon’tsay, welcome!
Stay, and soon you’ll find yourself
thinking in sound bites.

Yes, Youdon’tsay, stay!
It’s all margarita mix
and haircolor here.

Those of you who don’t
understand this reference,
just ask CountingDown.

It is the mantra
we parents of the college
class of thirteen chant.

My son recommends
the tiger and the baby
in The Hangover

toured my fav’rit school
d not impressed, lacked info
guide was a freshman

should have been a hit
“I don’t think that it’s for me”
please, talk to others.

Clemson yesterday
Ninety-five degrees for our
Two hour walking tour

Yet daughter loved it
Even without students there
School reeks of “happy!”

In the living room
he sits at the computer,
his feet down the hall –

unavoidable
tripping trap for those who dare
walk without looking.

Stumbling, I wonder –
where’d he get those long, lean legs?
Clearly not from me!

Good looks, brains, and hair
must have come from his father.
(I still have all mine! :D)

but you were just born
and i do not know you yet
just another year

I wouldn’t have guessed
a teen-age boy could be such
a riot to raise.

Note that it is sons
who move moms to write haiku.
Moms of daughters shop.

Good observation.
Six-pack of Hanes white T-shirts
lasts a whole 12 months.

D and I spent hours
together trawling Target
and BB & B.

S says thanks mom, but
I already have sheets, and
this towel should do.

Waffles and bacon –
only thing he’ll wake up for…
sure hope Mudd serves 'em.

I can’t imagine
what it would be like with girls –
shopping as bonding.

geek_son hates shopping,
but can be lured into the mall
with promise of food. ;)

As the kids these days say, I lol’d. :D

Minimalist son
asks why he would ever need
more than one towel,

and then he forgets
that one piece of terry cloth
when he packs his things.

Remember the boy
who Monday touched me dearly?
Today, not so much.
