I just got back from a visit and might I say, it was a great one. Many positives to say, few negatives.

Pros-
- Really nice campus
- Friendly people
- In most classes, you aren’t “just a number”
- Great math and science department (specifically engineering)
- Serious but fun college environment
- Walking is the only transportation you need to get around campus
- Big 12 school (good/competitive collegiate sports lots of school spirit)
- Great range of dorms (from more affordable to higher end luxury)
- It’s location puts it couple hours from the snowboarding slopes in NM
- It’s away from the parents for me (over 400 miles)
- Lots of oppurtunities to get involved (frats, clubs, orgs, etc.)

Cons-
- The city is dry (alcohol-wise)! =(
- Even though it’s up north, it’s still in Texas and it gets hot! (low humidity and often snowfall in winter however)
- (in your case, this may be a pro) Lubbock is a decently small city (roughly 200,000 people)
- The geography is completely flat (compared to the hills/lakes of central Texas, it’s looks a bit plain)
