Just got home...

From my Senior Prom! I thought all of you would like to hear about it, so here it is:

IT WAS AMAZING!!! I had a WONDERFUL time. (I’m slowly working what feels like a MILLION bobby pins out of my hair as I type this, so excuse any typos. ^_^)

I went with a guy friend of mine who graduated last year…it was so nice, because he knew a lot of my friends so I didn’t have to be like “, this is _.” I think it was also fun for him to see some of his old teachers. :)

But you know what I think the best part was (and what kind of surprised me)? It felt really nice to just be pampered for a day and really get to be a girlie girl…I mean I’m not a tomboy, but I rarely style my nails & hair…so to go get a full set of acryllics, get my hair done, and put on a fancy dress and nice make-up, was so fun!

My “date” was also SUCH a gentleman…he opened doors for me, pulled my chair out, brought me drinks and such…so fun. :)

It was also a very self-esteem building experience…almost every one of my friends I ran into was just like, “You look SO beautiful!!!” In fact, STRANGERS came up to me and told me how nice I looked at our pre- and post-prom meals (traditionally, the kids from my HS all either go to Denny’s or go Cosmic Bowling after prom. We opted for Denny’s).

Let’s see…OH. We drove in my “date”'s mom’s convertible, so we were able to pull up to the country club where we had it with the top down, which was very fun. ^_^

The room looked BEAUTIFUL…our theme was “Under the Midnight Stars”, so they had the room foggy (I have no idea how they maintained that throughout the evening) and with spotlights, which turned into kind of colored strobes when the dancing started.

The dancing was the only thing that really turned me off…I didn’t partake. I don’t enjoy the whole “Let’s see if we can look like we’re having sex with our clothes on” thing.

I did, however, do karaoke with my date, took pictures, and we took a horse and Cinderella-style carriage ride. :)

End note: Just counted…there were 40 bobby pins in my hair. :)

Now I just have to wash all the hairspray out and go to bed.

Y’know, it says something for my hairstylist that I drove on the California freeway in a convertible with the top down…and my hair didn’t move an INCH. :)

So glad you had a good time! I bet you were gorgeous. How did you save your hair while driving around in a convertible???

This sort of thing can also be very hard on your dress.

The 40 bobby pins and half-bottle of hairspray did it for me. ^_^

XD Marian. I seriously got a little chuckle out of that.

Oh that’s just wonderful. You know you’re going to have to keep in touch with us after you go to college, right? You’ve got a surrogate family here that’s very invested in your success and happiness!

Don’t I know it. But I’m addicted to CC…I’m not going anywhere.

Just realized the messed-up quote code in my last post…XD Hate the time-limit on editing!!!

I am so glad you had a good time. Sleep well.

I just uploaded pictures…feel free to PM me with an e-mail address if you’d like to see them!! :)

Congratulations! I’m glad you had a good time.

I’m so glad you had such a great time at your prom. I would love to see your pictures if you are really willing to share them. By the way, that must have been some hairspray! I didn’t think bobby pins would work that well.

D will be going to her BF’s prom in June, and I think I am more excited about it than she is…lol. Don’t get me wrong, she loved buying the dress, and I know she’ll enjoy the whole pampering thing, but she doesn’t know any of the details yet because her BF is handling them. She isn’t even positive about who’s in the limo with them because she said so many people have told her they’re in the same limo that she doesn’t think that can be possible…lol.

Oh, from what I saw last night, it’s VERY possible. XD

As for the bobby pins…she got them REALLY tight. Like, painfully so. XD I took two Motrin as soon as I got home from getting it done, then two more when we got to the club.

I honestly wasn’t very excited until I actually pulled up at the club and saw some of my friends that I’ve known for four years all dressed up and beautiful.

I’m willing to share pictures, I just sent some off to zoosersmom! Just PM me an email address to send them to.

Direct quote from the hairdresser before my junior prom: “Don’t worry…it’s good luck if your scalp bleeds!”

Yeeaah…I just let my mom do it for senior ball ;)

Glad you had fun!

So glad you had a great time at your Prom! It sounds like it exceeded your expectations. I could feel your excitement from your post. Glad your hair held up, too! What a happy memory you will carry with you.

My son is going to prom on Friday night. I made him go with me to order the corsage. Afterwards he said he just wanted to curl up in a little ball.

Saturday night was choir banquet for my son and my daughter. It’s so big and fun, it’s often called the “underclassmen’s prom.” Sso funny to have a son and a daughter going to the same event.

Son: He already owned the suit and tie; I bought him a new shirt. He made a dry run from the girl’s house to the banquet site, to make sure he knew how to get there. I Febreezed the inside of his car to remove fast food odors.

Daughter: Dress purchased in March. Ordered 12 pairs of black stilletos from Zappos; returned 11 of them. Bought two different necklaces and earrings from which to make a last minute choice. Manicure and pedicure; haircut and style. Shopped for the perfect black clutch bag (bought 2 - still have to return one.) Funny thing is, DD didn’t even have a date-she was just at table of other freshman girls all of whom went to a similar amount of trouble and expense!

Hisgracefillsme- I am so glad yu ahd a great time at your prom!! My prom last year was really fun, but since most of my friends are seniors this year I am doing after prom with them.

So glad that you had a blast!
