Just graduated. Anyone know the job climate for the S/E?

I am a new EE grad job searching and wanted anyone’s expert advice on new jobs right now in the southeast. I have a 3.1 GPA but have no coop or internships because of participation with FSAE.

I have started “the great hunt” and wait with optimism.

With the economy looking the way it does, how are the new grads in the S/E looking for respective employment?

First, what is S/E? Also, does your uni not have career services for engineering? If they do, I would highly recommend that, followed with applying to every single job you can find on indeed and every other company website you can find. While waiting, start looking up interview tips. Learn the behavioral interview style, come up with a good arsenal to common questions that can just roll off your tongue. You don’t want to finally get to the interview and then regret everything that came out of your mouth.

S/E = Southeast (I apologize for the poor abbreviation)

Already did the career services route. I am still working with them. I have spent countless hours researching interviewing techniques. I think that I would be fine as long as I could get an interview. I have been applying to companies non stop recently so I hope I can get a nibble.

Just wanted to see if someone had some insider information on job prospects for green EE’s. North Carolina area would be great.

Thank you for your response as I agree with everything you have mentioned.

Did you go to NCSU’s Career fair? You could also go to A&T’s (it’s pretty good and also open to the public). They should be open in February in case you are still looking. I don’t have any leads, but good luck!
