wow what city in va? (i am from there also), did you apply to uva?

Yay for DAR Good Citizens. :)

Your stats are wicked impressive.

i’m from tallwood high, in virginia beach. i applied to william and mary and UVA, yeah. did you apply to WM, too? and yes! the DAR ceremony was so cute, even though it’s definitely not my scene. my ap gov teacher nominated me because he thought it’d be funny and it definitely was.

i applied to uva, but not william and mary…i have similar stats as you, so let’s see how it goes.

i want to go to wm more than uva, and i think i’ll probably get into the former more easily 'cause i’m a legacy. good luck with uva!!

do you guys have good tips for trying to relate to the interviewer? i hear trying to make a good connection, find a commonground with the interviewer helps!

I Googled my guy before he called, found out he’s a M.D., and started out discussing Girls State and how one of my teachers there was starting in Doctors Without Borders, and how that and other humanitarian groups really interest me…from there, I sort of went out on a limb and mentioned more of my interests, finally getting into a really great film discussion. You sort of just have to throw stuff out there, be really friendly open, and you’ll find a connection. Good luck!! :-)

I just had mind today. It was probably the best interview I have had among all the Ivies I have applied for. The interview was very relaxed, I was very surprised that he didn’t put me on the spot for any of the questions. He really made Brown THE place for college.
