I’m just wondering because I worked really hard on my essays. My GPA is okay, but not a shoo in for the schools I’m looking on. So I’m really dependent on my essays to pull me in. Admissions people read literally thousands of kid’s essays and there’s like two or three per kid. I’m just afraid they’re going to skim it lightly.

you should really write about something that catches their,
in most big schools they do read essays carefully
essays are important

If a school asks for an essay, they will take it seriously. It costs big $$$ to pay people to read thousands of essays. At very selective schools, essays can easily be the difference between admission and rejection.

If you have a good hook and a captivating essay, you don’t have to worry about them skimming over it. And if they do skim over it, they will at least know it’s good from what they’ve read of it.
