Just how much smaller are Phase I rooms?

I’m in Mirkwood and I’ve heard Phase I rooms “smell” and are really tiny.
Would two fridges fit?
What about a small TV?

a little over 10 squared feet. The site has the avg. dimensions.

Thanks for the link, but I’d like some first hand info from someone who lived in Phase I dorms.

Although I personally didn’t live in a Phase 1 dorm in Middle Earth, I visited a friend who did. You should have enough room to fit two fridges, but the TV would be more difficult to place. It would either go on top of the fridge, the desk, or on top of the wardrobe unless you’re willing to place it between the beds.

Hey Youshallnot, I dont know how the phase one are now, because they completely remodeled all Phase ones of Middle Earth. You might be in luck in avoiding the odor. You guys (those in ME phase I) will be first living in these remodeled structures. FYI, last year mirkwood was an empty hall.

I’ve seen the phase I rooms and to be honest, it looks really small. There might not be enough space for moving furniture around. Two fridges may be alot in the rooms. idk if phase I are allowed but you can maybe request bunk beds, that way you have more room for storage.

I don’t quite understand how there could be an empty hall when students were forced into triples and quads last year.

To my opinion, I kinda think that mirkwood is the “RA’s hangout spot” I saw a nice patio with a hammock in Mirkwood . Thats the only hall that has that.

I heard the empty hall was due to cutting back on how many freshmen UCI was going to accept. Not sure if it’s true. Maybe it’s budget cuts too. But if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. Even though a lot of students are forced into triples and quads, it saves the trouble of having to have an entire hall where they’d have to pay custodians to clean, pay for another RA, etc.

Hey~! I’m in Mirkwood too and was wondering the exact same thing… Would you happen to have a fb? Because Mirkwood seriously seems to still be a dead hall right now. )': Though I guess I’m still a bit excited…
