My first go round with houston community college, I took a total of three classes, I ended up getting my gf pregnant and had to drop out because my parents “ain’t taking care of no more kids”.
I had 3 classes and I was able to get one of the three professors to let me drop the class but the other two wouldn’t let me (it was after the drop deadline so I do understand).
Now two years later I have a full time job and I’ve decided I cannot take this for the rest of my life. I feel as though I’m ready to return to college. How do I go about getting back in? will I be able to get financial aid? any suggestions for when I do go back to college?

Ps…thnx for all the responses

Perhaps take it one subject at a time… It is a harder to take General Ed, English, and a math course at the same time, at least in my personal experience. You did not indicate what major you may want but that’s OK, noone really knows what they want to do when the start out in college. Talk to a counselor and go beyond just their advice and do research on here and what you can find on the internet.

FA depends on your income.
Start part time to ease into it. Go online to figure out the requirements for your major and check the university you hope to go to and see what they require.

Your questions can best be answered by the college guidance department. That person will be able to give you details answers to your questions.

Every college is different in how they handle these situations. Another option, if you are interested in self study (and saving money) is to study for CLEP exams. Each CLEP exam that you take (and pass) will earn you college credit. Most community college accept CLEP credits so this is another option for earning your degree. Just google CLEP for more info or read the CLEP forum here on Coll.Confidential.

Every major that is marketable has a lot of math so if you really want to hone in on one skill, MAKE IT MATH. The easier majors psychology, polisci, communications, etc. will not pay off in the long run so you might as well not go back to school. For your betterment take as much math as you can!
