Well hello fendergirl, what else is new!

Not too much… Just ‘celebrated’ my 5 year anniversary at work… Remember when I was a measly freshman posting on here?? I’m 27 - going on 28 - now!! Just moved to a ‘senior’ position at my job about a month ago… Still doing the same thing, but I got moved to a different ‘team’ with a bunch of (relatively) new people… but as the senior person I kind of fill in for my manager when she’s out, help facilitate meetings, i am the go to girl for questions, and I help my boss out with doing 1 on 1 meetings with the newbies… giving them tips and guidance and work on developing them and whatnot. (I hope that makes sense). It’s a nice way to break up my day a little bit. Sooo I’m still doing my regular job but with some added responsibilities that should help me score some points with the higher ups when it comes to a promotion. (Hey, i’m speaking openly and honestly here, haha!) They actually came to me and suggested that I make this switch, so that made me feel pretty good. It’s definitely a step in the right direction…

The house is great… I just recently tore up my carpet and exposed the hardwood floors… I got them refinished and they look gorgeous.

Still doing photography as a hobby on the side… got a new camera not too long ago and LOVEEEEEEEE it. Almost all of my artwork that I have at my house is my own… I have probably almost a dozen framed 11x14 prints of some of my favorite photos on the walls, as well as a couple of my paintings as well.

and lastly, dating a complete sweetheart. We just took our first ‘vacation’ together… went to the beach for a couple of days. It was completely awesome and we had perfect weather however we both were sick the whole time!!!

Hai!

When were you on last?

According to the top of my page, May 2009!

Hey sweetie, thanks for the update.

Congrats on the job and house; good luck with the romance :)

You mean to tell me that people who start out on CC as college freshmen eventually become grown ups?? OMG.

Go figure… ;)

Hi fendergirl! Good to hear from you! Hope all is well!

Hi fendergirl, I was just thinking of you! My youngest son (now HS senior) has been getting mail and e-mail from York and I thought of you and how much you liked your college experience there. Good to hear how well you are doing!

Hey neighbor!! Is he going to go?? :)

Hey Fendergirl, you’re an original with my family. You were posting a LOT when my D was a HS Senior, and I was first lurking on CC. Glad to hear you’re doing well.

How old is she now?? I remember you too!!

She just turned 23 … and she’s a first-year law student. (Environmental Law)

That’s very exciting. I’ve been contemplating getting my MBA for a couple of years now… I just keep pushing it off. My work will pay for it so really I should get the ball moving. I’ve been looking into one of the local schools here… You can do classes in person or online and they have tuition deferrment… which is nice to have… so rather then me paying the tuition, taking the class, passing the class, and having my work reimburse me, they would hold off on the tuition until i’m done the class, and then my work would pay me and I could pay them. Seems like a win win.

Hi FG…great to hear your update. You were here when we were looking for colleges for our DD. Sounds like you are doing great.

Before you know it, you’ll be posting here for college admissions advice :)

FG - Getting your employer to pay for MBA courses … that’s a great deal. It was a long time ago, but I earned my Masters Degree that way. Of course, zero “out of pocket” doesn’t mean you don’t have to work to pass your courses. But at least the cost is time and effort … rather than money! I say go for it.

hi thumper!!!

I figure I can probably do one or two per semester so its going to take awhile… I don’t want to over-do it with working full time and all…

Tonight i spilled my very first drink ever since moving into this house, and naturally it was on my brand new off-white area rug. I cleaned it up w/ resolve… Hopefully there is no stain!!!

Glad to hear things are going so well, even taking into account the spill and all! :)

fendergirl, thanks for checking in! I’m happy to hear that things are going well.

(Psst - buy some Oxyclean. :))
