just to help us parents feel that little bit older

I thought this was rather, it is one of do you remember when type of articles. Anyway I thought it might be good for chuckle

Every year I read this and feel older. What REALLY depresses me is that I’ve been forwarding it to my kids and even THEY feel old after reading it … and the youngest is only a college junior.

Just a double whammy with all the “This is old, hit like if you know what it is and used it” on facebook. I’ve known everything but one and used most of them. Sigh…and I was born in the early 1960’s.

I wasn’t feeling to old until I got a call over the weekend from a former classmate telling me about our 40th reunion. I went to 5th and have never been back. Not sure if I’ll go this time.

It’s never too soon to be made to feel old by the younger generation. My daughter’s best friend just started her first teaching job. When surveyed, her 2nd grade students thought she was about 70 and was born in Mexico. (She’s 23 and a natural blond.)

Remember when the only minivans were the ones driven by hippies and surfers?

I tried to get D1 to consider wearing her jean jacket a certain way and she kindly said she didn’t really want a 70’s look. And it dawned on my that that’s exactly what I was advocating.

tell her anything before the 80s is retro and that’s cool

When I get in the ‘oh my goodness, I’m getting old!’ mood, I always tell myself ‘well, it sure as he!! beats the alternative!’.

If you’re not getting old, you’re in trouble. :)
