Just visitng and wondering....

Why was the “At the Yale v. Cornell Basketball Game…” thread closed? I was really hoping to see dbate come back and make a fool out of himself some more.

Haha, it was getting a little bit ridiculous, I think. Dbate kept going around in circles; everyone kept reiterating the same arguments… I guess the mods just thought it was rather pointless. It’s not really a hugely important discussion that needs to happen anyways; after all, it’s one person’s opinion.

Perhaps this thread will resurface and continue some of the arguments presented in that thread.

Hopefully not. People who arrogantly remark that some schools are not prestigous at all and that one school is the worst on a given list shouldn’t post at all. It’s actually offensive as malan89 found the claims against Cornell to be.

I agree. It’s a fairly untenable position to make such insensitive claims.

malan: this thread is a great example of one that should be locked too, IMHO.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

It’s not just Cornell and, in fact, I’m not offended by anything. This kid went after a lot of different people and groups, so I’d like for him to be held accountable.

I’m fine with the mods deleting the thread because it was offensive. But leaving it up on the site but not allowing anymore posters to go after his libel is the wrong way to go about it. In fact, it almost comes off as an endorsement of those ideas. They should either open it back up or scrub it altogether.

Hush. We must not agitate the plebs. raises monocle
