Just when you thought humanity couldn't get any worse

Jus soli citizenship is most common in the Americas, and some other English speaking countries.

It actually makes more sense than not having it because countries are defined by territory, and most people are not world travelers. Jus soli citizenship prevents the entrenchment of a multigenerational non-citizen underclass like has happened in places like Germany and Japan. The non-citizen status gives cover for racism against the affected people. (But that may be the desired effect for those who want to repeal the 14th amendment.)

As noted above, birth tourism results in a tiny percentage of babies born in the US, so it is not a big deal overall.

Horrific.

However this is clearly not a daycare center but an operation to give US citizenship.

Rather ironic, but China doesn’t grant dual citizenship. If these babies return to China, they will not be Chinese citizens unless they give up their US citizenship.

I think many do register in China in some way to get government benefits and education.

My daughter’s Chinese citizenship was revoked when she became a US citizen.

Mental illness is usually the cause of much violence.

This unlicensed daycare et al facility for mothers and babies is unusual- being a place for Chinese mothers to recuperate with their babies in the US. No stringent hiring et al.
