Is anyone using the 2006 edition Kaplan review book for AP Chem? I ordered it from Amazon because I liked the 2005 edition, which I took a look at at my local library. The 2005 edition was really detailed and looked to be pretty useful. I got the 2006 edition in the mail and to my dismay, it was shrunk down quite a bit. There isn’t nearly as much content in it as the 2005 edition.

Basically, will the 2006 Kaplan be enough to get a 5 or should I get PR? PR is supposedly the best.

My teacher has been teaching the class since its inception in the 1950s, and has maintained ever since the CliffsAP came out that they have the best guide on Chemistry.

I have the Princeton Review book already, and it is amazing. It is insanely beefy, but it goes through the concepts without getting bogged down in the technical jargon, which helps a lot. It is also organized into what I think is a much more sensible order than some textbooks I’ve looked at.

I used the 2005 edition last year. I found it really useful and I think I ended up with an A in my AP Chem class due to it. I hated our textbook because I would fall asleep with it.
